Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

No, nothing here is familiar.

[Toph is frowning. She can tell where he is of course and she walks around the fountain. He seems like a pretty big guy.]

You don't see a bison flying around do you?

[mostattitude]

No.

[Well, if she's not gonna freak out...

He straightens up, crossing his arms over his chest.]

You seen a giant rat anywhere?

[stomptheground]

A giant rat?

[Toph blinks, even though it doesn't help her.]

I don't know what a giant rat is like. Is it like a badgermole?

[mostattitude]

[What the heck is a badgermole?]

...No, it's. You know, a rat. He's really tall, wears robes -- ah, never mind.

[Takes a look around, frowning.]

Geez. This is probably Donnie's fault. An experiment gone wrong or something and now we're hundreds of years in the past. I am so kicking his butt when I find him.

[stomptheground]

Robes? I've never met an animal that wore robes before. Are you messing with me?

[Toph shrugs a little bit.]

It's all the same to me!

[mostattitude]

I don't even know you, why would I bother?

[Also, hi, big talking turtle over here, yet it's the thought of animals wearing robes that's weird? Sheesh.]

I thought you said nothing was familiar.

[stomptheground]

It isn't, but that's not that weird, I travel a lot. All looks the same to me.

[Toph grins and shrugs before waving her hand in front of her own face since she doesn't see anything. The fact he's a turtle has completely been missed.]

[mostattitude]

[Snorts.]

Man, you gotta travel a whole lot for things to—

[And then he notes the waving hand and peers a little more closely at her and it clicks.]

Oh.

[Whoops.

...Hang on.]

Wait, can you not see me? Like, at all?

[stomptheground]

[She shakes her head.]

Nope, can't see a thing. I can tell through earthbending where you are and you're pretty tall right?

[mostattitude]

[Wow, convenient. Raph grins.]

Awesome! I mean—not awesome, but...uh. Cool. As in, cool that you can't see me. I mean, not me, just...things. Um.

[Well, he's just gonna jump off that sinking ship as quickly as possible.]

Right, yeah, I'm tall! Wouldn't mind being taller, but I'll live. I'm Raphael. What's earthbending?

[stomptheground]

[Granted, no one's ever said awesome before,but either way it doesn't really bother Toph. It never did.]

I'm Toph and I'm the greatest earthbender in the whole world!

[She grins.]

Earthbending lets me control the earth and I can feel the vibrations under my feet which tells me where everything is, where people are. When you move, the ground vibrates. The badgermoles taught me!

[mostattitude]

The...badgermoles. Again.

[Sure. Okay then. He can roll with that.]

If those are just some weird hybrid mix of badgers and moles, then whoever named them is seriously lacking in creativity. I can actually hear my brother being offended somewhere.

[stomptheground]

I don't know, that's just what they're called. At least they're not turtleducks, or catowls.

[She tilts her head a bit.]

You have a brother?

[mostattitude]

Turtleducks would be just as bad!

[Worse, even. What a weird mental image.]

...Yeah. Three actually. Those losers better be here, too.

[stomptheground]

[It's just what you imagine. Really literal names.]

Well if you don't see a giant flying bison around, then I don't know where my friends are.

[mostattitude]

[Shields his eyes and takes a look around the skies.]

I'm telling you, there aren't any bisonbirds here. Think you might be out of luck.

[stomptheground]

Oh he's not a bird, just a really big bison who sheds sometimes.

[She giggles a little at the thought of Appa being a bird.]

Well, I guess I'll just have to find them then.
