Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[There's a girl walking through the square carrying a bag of medical supplies; you can vaguely see a bandage wrapped around her upper torso. through a hole in her shirt. And she looks like she's kind of on a mission... ah, wait, she sees Akiko and tapers off.]

It sounds like you're new here, then?

[greenshoe]

[ Thank god someone who might have an idea about what's going on. ]

Yeah... I was working in an office and then I found myself here.

[ There is going to be such a mess when she gets back, knowing Shotaro and Philip they'd just destroy the budget she set out for the month. ]

Hmm... that sounds kind of rough. It's going to be quite a while before you can get back to your work. I'm sorry. [Spoilers: she isn't, not really. She's been here for half a year already, almost.]

Should I start explaining from the top, or do you have specific questions you'd prefer to ask?

[greenshoe]

[ It sucks to be Akiko right now. Her work isn't the big thing right now, there's also the fact her husband is going to question where she is... ]

From the top, and I better take notes while I'm at it!

You'll actually have notes on this already - in your journal. You've got it on you somewhere, right? Everyone has one.

But to summarize, you've been brought to this world, and here to Isla Empieza, to search for pieces of a legendary ruby with unknown but ridiculous powers. We think its powers include "send us home", so we're looking for it anyway. This island is small, though, so you'll need to get a ship. You should have money on you somewhere, so you can either get a boat for yourself, or you can find other people and crew a ship together. Bigger ships are usually a better idea - if someone gets hurt or sick, you have people to cover for them. You can hold more stuff, too, and you won't go insane being by yourself.

[ Akiko didn't really bother to search her bag when she woke up, and it has the journal in it along with a few other things she had on hand before waking up here. ]

Finding lost items is one of the things the detective agency I run is known for. [ Meaning this can't be all that hard right... besides the getting a ship part. ]

You're a detective? That should be helpful, then.

It's worth mentioning that things have been dangerous around here lately... the Navy's out to get us, and there have been some strange happenings. So you need to keep an eye out!
