Iiiii was going to fill out the form but as of yet I can't quite SO

After Navy Month is over, and after whatever consequences suffered (capture or injury) have been sorted out, Gan Ning will be leaving the company of the alliance he temporarily fell into and will be looking to captain his own ship.

He will be publicly asking about it later, but I want to see if there is OOC interest first, before he opens his big mouth. I haven't decided if he's just going to get a little sailboat first or go for a ketch - but he needs more than 3 crew members for a ketch. So I need to suss out who might be interested in joining up with a hardcore pirate in order to decide what kind of ship he gets.

Gan Ning is an experienced sailor and terror of the Jiangdong, he does know his way around raiding and won't hesitate to commit piracy in the open. He's loud and a bit reckless, but a lot of fun if you like drinking and fighting, and will take extremely good care of his crew - his men back home willingly left a life of piracy to become Wu soldiers under him, they loved him so much. I'd be up for establishing CR with chats over the journal with any characters who would conceivably be okay with this guy being their captain.

He's had to learn the hard way that a foul attitude and constant condescension doesn't net you allies, and he's going to need them in order to get home again. Grell's crew seems like a safe enough bet to him. Nobody seems like too much of a goody-good, and nobody he knows from his world.

He doesn't really care about being Captain, since he considers the world they're in just a temporary haitus from his "real" life.

The Katabami is a Brig Sloop and can take on 6 new crew members.

The Katabami's priorities are treasure hunting, manly stories, getting into trouble, making Ragna miserable, showing up the Koumyou in every way possible, feeding the captain's ego, and keeping the boat intact.

Our next order of business is our battle against Red Charlotte, so new arrivals will probably be picked up on our way north to kick some Navy ass!

You had me at the turkey and the armadillo. Kodachi is fond of exotic pets, and will terribly miss her own - a huge alligator by the name of Mr. Green Turtle (Midorigame-san).

Kodachi is a very formal young lady, gymnastic martial artist, and flamboyant drama queen. She'll definitely be down for treasure hunting, bombastic stories, and getting into trouble. She also likes making people miserable and showing up competition, so I think this ship is a good place for her to start her sea journey. She can contribute to the ship with her culinary skills if you have yet to have a cook and she's also highly skilled at dirty tactics - she's the kind of girl to smile sweetly and poison your drink in one go.

She's also quite volatile and violent, so if you'd like a little more chaos, then she's your girl. :)

I am totally on board with this idea, especially since Motochika is terrible at dealing with girls like Kodachi. Absolutely terrible. How would you like to have her join up?

We have a crew comm at katabami where at least some planning gets done. I'll probably put a post up there for planning for the second half of March some time tomorrow when I'm more coherent!

I've just arrived so I have no idea how a character gets recruited derp. What should I do to have her catch the captain or the crew's attention so that they'd consider having her as a member? :3c

There are any number of ways we can do it! I tossed up a plotting post here to see what people think. We'll be stopping on Isla Empieza to restock, so we can have her meet up with someone from the crew then if you'd like. I'll do a log post for that in a day or two, probably.

The Sinewave is a [caravel] and can take on [6] more crewmates. As you can probably tell, we're actually one crewmember under the lower limit--roughly half the previous crew disappeared last month, including the founding captain, so now-Captain Codi has had to create some emergency stand-ins to make the appearance of stability. That said, she's fairly desperate to bring the ship back up to capacity, which means that she's not picky (and prone to making bad decisions in the first place). We could maybe get away with sailing a caravel with four people, but Codi will be sifting for recruits pretty thoroughly.

In general, the Sinewave's objectives are to get the Roja together and get the heck out of here as quickly as possible. Exploration and adventure plays heavily into that; expect a lot of travel and a lot of treasure bartering, but not many battles. Or, that's the hope--right now (14th and 15th) the Sinewave and Mistress are teaming up to battle one of the Eight Navy Captains and could use a bit of muscle. But apart from the occasional scuffle, the crew is primarily noncombatant.

The Captain, Motochika, is an experienced ruler, samurai and naval commander, so this is a well-run ship! He's also super eccentric, dramatic, musical and likes to encourage creativity, which means a certain someone Hajime has 'decorated' certain areas in, ah... interesting ways? Your first mate, Mitsuhide, is a samurai too, but gentle-hearted, kind and prone to getting rather paternal with his younger charges.

We encourage all to come along, however any characters with no sailing or combat experience will get training happily offered to them! Mitsuhide keeps rifles in stock and prefers to teach those, but he'll offer lessons with the sword if it's really wanted.

Their focus is on checking out as many islands as possible in the search for shards, but at the same time ensuring everything can enjoy themselves and find the good in this situation. Nobody actually feels threatened by the Katabami trying to show them off; any rivalry there is all in Basara!Motochika's head. ;)

Looking for a crew

Fuu here had wind based abilities that are mostly defensive, one offensive and a healing spell so if anyone needs or wants a healer then I'll be happy to take her on board.

The Sinewave could do with a healer! Given that most of the crew is either powerless or intrinsically offensive with their abilities (see Codi and Akira), having someone with defensive capabilities would balance them out very well.

Given that Coby actively refuses to become a pirate even if it's just in a meaningless title, he would rather sail alone or join a crew who identifies as people looking only to defend the innocent.

If there are any crews who operate on that sort of basis, he might be tempted to join! He has a looooot of sailing experience, both as a pirate and as a Navy sailor.

Yato is a war God with few social skills, but a lot of very important ones. He's a skilled fighter, his weapon of choice is a sword. He has a wide variety of skills including but not limited to cooking and repairing plumbing.

He's old, very old, despite his current 'teenager' appearance but what he really enjoys is a good beer.
