Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Kurt himself was just looking over vendors, human form to prevent more of a panic though he had almost broke his cover with those dumb pirates fighting him earlier. When sie approaches him, he looks up, blinking a bit and smiling.]

Of course. How may I help?

[Smoker skids to a stop right by him.]

[That's uh... a good question actually.] First off to pay for the damages to the inn.

I hope there's some small game there... I'm a bit tired of fruit. -She liked apples! She didn't like apples as her solitary diet.-

"I'm betting, with the way you've been treating him, that the problem is that there's probably more saliva than alcohol in there," Grey said before adding an apologetic, "No offense," in the direction of the bartender.

I've had the option removed from me given that the only piracy is in the water here and I only know the mechanics of ships that go a long ways from sea level.

[ Even if she knows how to pirate, without killing anyone if she doesn't have to on top of that, she can't imagine much respect would come toward someone who doesn't have sea legs. ]

If I find someone to teach me and some people I feel I can trust, that might be another story. Even if it takes a little longer to get started than the people running off without thinking. What about you? Are you just going to stay on the docks?

Perhaps people just prefer to merit out justice by wandering rather than being restricted?

Ah! That was smart thinking! They shouldn't bring them all out or they might lose them all!

You can sleep on it, too. [he thought she ate it, but sleeping is nice.] It's springy. Zoro sleeps on it all the time. And yeah, the shark sub is at the bottom. It's this cool mystery room with a lot of doors and cool things in them. [he doesn't really get it but--]

And our room is right here. [he colors that in--but as he works he starts to frown a little]

[He blinks, looking up at Ellen with a surprised expression, before grinning sheepishly.]

I guess. That guy said I should. [Points to random guy.] He said I should... [Looks upward, as if trying to remember it word-for-word.] 'earn my keep'!

[With that, he scratches the back of his head. Now that he thinks about it, that guy is not even the captain of the ship. Or the first mate.]

[Does she dare? Of course she does. It isn't as if the Vice-Admiral has any jurisdiction here. And he looks like he could use a little fun.

Smoker will find his stool being spun around, and when it comes full circle, a tall, spare-framed woman in his lap.]

A bit early for heavy drinking alone, no? And you say pirates can't be helpful.

[She takes his drink, gulps down whatever's left, and spins the stool once more. By the time Smoker's facing the bar again she'll be gone- just like his alcohol.]

[Puffs on his cigars.] As they say where I'm from, prove it.

Ehh? I gotta meet them right away! These are almost as good as Pink's! By the way [he sucks the frosting off his fingers] are you good at finding people?

-He might notice he wasn't the only one getting five finger discounts after a moment. One such was a woman in a hooded cloak (wasn't it far too hot for that kind of clothing) managing to snatch away a pear from a fruit vendor, rushing past him.-

[Sora is walking around, trying to figure out where exactly he should be starting. He has experience in exploring new worlds, so this is nothing new, really. He spots a blond-haired guy... with a... tail? Curiosity is piked. The guy looks like he isn't from around here, as well.]

Hi! You new here, too?

[ She actually makes a face at that because she's fairly certain she heard something else. ]

You're not related to Barbarossa, are you?

[ She sounds a little thrown off, but that's only because.. well, her father's ship is named after Barbarossa. ]

I'm afraid, as much as I loathe to make the joke, you and I are in the same boat. I would only consider joining a crew with someone I know and trust... no matter how long that will take me. That, or if it's just someone who's openly honest to a fault... I'm sure I could handle myself in that situation.

[ He pauses ]

Ah, an aerial captain?

Yeah I'm just running from someone. [he looks around] But I think I've lost him. I didn't expect to run into that guy here.

By the way, old guy, have you been here long?

Despite Grey's frankly bizarre appearance, he carries himself like a type of person that Hector may not have met very many examples of. Namely, competent law enforcement.
