Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

There's a difference between something that has a structure and utter nonsense.

[Luffy piles the passed out ones carefully in a small rowboat, and lowers them, keeping a rope tied which he stretches out an arm to hand to the other ship so they can pull their nakama back in.

He crouches in front of the scared guy who shrinks back and rips off a bit of the bottom of the guy's shirt, handing it out]

You can bandage your hand with this 'til your doctor wakes up. Sorry for startling you, I'm a stowaway but I think your food is pretty good.

[he stands again and looks at the guy who had helped him]

I don't like you.

Talk 'bout making sense... [ Mumblemumble. Thankfully he's up on the crow's nest! And has to speak up to be heard! ]

'n that... Jabberwock-y just doesn't make 'ny sense at all?

[polarization]

[ Sefton jolts. Yeah, he was a bit preoccupied to notice a barrel... well, barreling toward him. He glances at it and glowers heavily. Heavily, I say. ]

What d'you want?

[allendsmeat]

[the barrel stills! Crap! he was caught!]

Umm...food!

[polarization]

[ Sefton glances down at the leftovers of his seconds and rolls his eyes. He shifts it over toward the barrel, hand on the very far end of the plate to avoid any and all possible contact. He's really bad with touching people, don't'cha know. ]

There's more if you ask Chef.

[He would take that as a compliment.]

That's the point of the nonsense literature genre!

[polarization]

[ Thus the mumbling. ]

There's not a genre for that! You're makin' that up.

There is indeed a genre for that. I'm not clever enough to make that up.

[ He gives Jabberwock a glower from where he's leaning over the edge of the nest banner. ]

S' that like the... monkeys with typewriters thing?

[Thankfully he's used to glowers and glares and all that sort.]

Not at all. It's fanciful and whimsical stories told with made up words. Some nursery rhymes would fall under the category.

[How is a crazy assassin teaching a child about nonsense verse.]

[ Because he is a crazy assassin and the child is a Sefton. Duh. ]

Sefton can make fifteen stupid faces, I've seen those icons

What's the point of sense? Just because you deem something to be invalid doesn't actually make it so.

There are times when we need something more whimsical and carefree than what sense would give us.

[The Judge doesn't know of any expression regarding curiosity and felines. The only thing that kills this cat is a man wielding a baseball bat.]

I've never heard of this "Witches Council" of which you speak, I'm afraid. The place I'm from has no witches to speak of.

I am known as... [A brief pause. He almost says 'Pablo.' It's so easy to become familiar with a fellow cat.] The Judge. Are talking cats not common in your home?

[She's still struggling to get touch her tongue to the tip of her nose when Luffy hops to his feet.]

[She stops for a moment to take a breath. ]

Let's go up! [he points to the Crow's Nest. Then loops an arm protectively around her waist and punches up with the other one, his arm stretching and stretching and stretching til he can grip the top. He grins at her]
