Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[There's a twitch from said 'something else' as he saw that familiar annoying face peering down from the ship.]

Why don't you take a swim while I get up there, hm?

Nah, I don't want my clothes getting wet.

[He even pops his collar, like, u jelly?]

But it looks like you're enjoying the water. Maybe I'll just let you swim beside the boat since I don't feel like pulling you up here.

[Beside Spock, there's actually someone else who seems to be pretty new to his surrounding as well. And just like him, he seems to be faring rather well with this as one could easily tell from his calm action with the natives. Well, two can play the same game, right?

At one point, Jin is approaching Spock, as harmless as he could.]

I need you to inform me about our whereabouts right now.

[Direct, that's Jin Kisaragi for you.]

[So I herd you liek tranquility.

Oh well, let's say that it has been years and they have settled things between them, in which Jin turns rather sane and Ragna's not all that disgusted with Jin? There's a Jin by the door, who's silently blaming his nose and feet for smelling such a delicious smell and walking to this place.]

[Usopp is just in luck, then! Because coincidentally there's a Jin Kisaragi doing some survey about the island. At one point, while he's passing-by Usopp's searching figure, he coincidentally kicks Usopp's sorry butt, literally.

Sorry, doesn't see you there, dude.]

[proudleader]

Fine, then I'll make you.

[Whatever he's going to start to try to climb the freaking ship, ropes or not!]

Attempting to throw the captain overboard is an offense punishable by death.

[/SCARY CAPTAIN'S VOICE.

Except not really.]

Ah... it's climbing up!

[Though Gareki keeps making jabs at him, he does decide to back away a little bit in case Blue grabs and pulls him.]

I'm sorry, I thought I heard the crew trying to attempt mutiny on the real captain of the ship.

[oh, he's there, and he's pissed]

[It's motivational speaking, Blue. It helped you climb on board faster, right?]

Oh, no, you must be mistaken. A real captain wouldn't have been thrown off his own ship, and then found desperately clinging for dear life onto a piece of wood.

Go and dry yourself off now, cabin boy. You can dream about being captain on your own time.

[proudleader]

Sorry, but the captain doesn't take orders from the powder boy.

Did you drink too much sea water while you were out there? I think you're starting to hallucinate.

As the only competent member of the ship, I have to navigate the ship back onto its right course.

[They had to take a detour for you, Blue! Be more grateful!]

You go swab the deck or something. The longer you stand around in that drenched state, the more harm you're going to do to the ship.

[Repairs cost money, and they need to save it for a bigger ship!!]

[proudleader]

[It's hard to be grateful when the guy's being an ass about it!]

Yeah, yeah, whatever.

[He's going to at least start heading to his room to get some clothes, making it a point to get the deck as wet as possible from the dripping sea water before he goes down.]

Smell ya later, idiot.

[That just means more work for you!!!

As the other boy walks off, Gareki pinches his nose.]

Ugh, what an ironic thing to say when you're busy stinking up the place right now.

[PS get a better catchphrase, please.]

[She drops a rope from the side of the ship for him.]

[For a moment she's stunned. She's always wanted to fly, you know. Then she smiles widely and adjusts her goggles.]

Ready for liftoff!

[ His attention briefly flickers toward Descry anyway, an instinctual action to keep the man placed within his peripheral. Once he's satisfied that Descry isn't moving any closer, which doesn't take very long, Sefton turns back toward his search. He looks upward at that information, now glancing around for something he might be able to climb up on. ]

Really should just stop somewhere populated 'n have professionals look at this...

Most people don't. It's a disappointment to hear what the schools fail to teach our children these days.[He stops for a moment before he laughs.] That would explain it.

Jabberwock. I don't look like a Bandersnatch, do I? I don't think I've got the legs to be a Bandersnatch.

[Ellie says, missing the entire point.]

I'm a born adventurer, through and through. I can handle myself.

[Ellie is pretty sure she's going to live forever. Which is ironic, all things considered.]

Wait, wait, I get it. This is the different world thing. Differences between what we know and that both of us are right. This is quite strange!

[Says the madman who hunts monsters.]

That explains everything. We could possibly return to our previous conversation now that you're done telling old Jabberwock how wrong you think he is.

[polarization]

No point. S' just nonsense.

[ Which... is the point, Sefton. Also totally ignoring the fact that Jabberwock is probably right and this whole thing is weird and why is this his life, dangit. ]

Now you're getting it. That's exactly the point!

[Give up, Sefton. You can't win against Jabberwock.]

There's always something that's nonsense that you can't make heads or tails of.

[And for the first time in this conversation, Jabberwock is actually serious.]

Sometimes it's easier to go along with it than fighting against it.

Why? Easier doesn't mean... better.

[ Sefton's life philosophy right there. It's what he tells himself, anyway, because it would be easier to just use his power and damn the consequences. The way he lives now is the hardest thing he could imagine. ]

I agree with you there, but in some situations, the pain of fighting isn't worth it in the end. Trust me, I'm well acquainted with it.

[He looks up at Sefton.]
