Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Spock looks around, analyzing the rustic buildings surrounding him.

He should not be here.

In his science blue uniform, black bowlcut, pointed ears and slanted eyebrows... he stands out like a sore thumb. The Vulcan doesn't panic, merely starts to wander around looking for locals to ask for information.]

[fierybluebird]

You lost mate? [Relaxed and well at ease here.]

[spohkh]

[Spock assess the stranger... not seeing an immediate threat.]

So it would seem.

I am Spock... may I inquire as to your name?

[fierybluebird]

Marco. First division commander of the Whitebeard pirates, eh.

Where are ye looking for?

[spohkh]

[Confusion flutters across Spock's expression.
...Pirate?]

I am looking for anything that might be familiar... but I calculate that the odds are very unlikely.

You are... a pirate?

[fierybluebird]

[Spock's word choices and query get a head tilt.]

Aye. This surprises you? [He's surprised more at the surprise.]

[allendsmeat]

[Luffy's wandering around, too, with a barrel full of apples that he's carrying on his shoulder and eating one by one. Then a strong wind blows up through the alley and takes his hat with it, sending it spiraling into the air]

Hat!

[he drops the barrel and chases after it]

Hat! Wait! Come back!

[as it sinks slowly on the dying breeze, Spock might feel it brush his shoulder and from the distance hear:]

Haaat!

[spohkh]

[Spock catches the straw hat, and gently holds on to it as the stranger approaches.]

Greetings, I believe this is yours.

[The Vulcan hands out the hat...and eyes the barrel dubiously...]

Are you a resident of this place?

[allendsmeat]

Ah! [he takes the hat and sets it back on his head, grinning] Thanks alot, Ears-ossan! I don't live here. I'm a pirate. Do you?

[spohkh]

[Spock quirks an eyebrow.... Ears-ossan?

Curious.]

I do not.
If you are a pirate, does that not make you a dangerous criminal? [Spock sounds more curious than disapproving.]

[allendsmeat]

haha yeah probably! [he has a wanted poster and everything! It's so cool] What do you do?

"Interesting uniform. What service do you work for?" Grey commented. While he had a military rank himself, Grey wasn't wearing one, and usually didn't except on certain occasions. Members of Starguard's law enforcement division, at least at Grey's rank, tended to function a lot like plainclothes detectives.

[spohkh]

[Spock regards the stranger curiously....
Alien of unknown classification... Is he a threat? Unsure, logical to keep distance. However.... should he also adhere to the Prime Directive? The Vulcan sees no reason to do so.]

Starfleet. I am Spock of Vulcan. May I inquire as to your name?

[greymelee]

"Grey Bradbury, of Earth." Grey paused to let the bit sink in, before explaining. "I'm adopted."

[spohkh]

[Spock quirks an eyebrow....]

Indeed. It is well to make your acquaintance Mister Bradbury. Does this place have a name?

[ To Ahim, the Vulcan doesn't stand out all that much. She's not human herself, though she looks like it, and she's used to stranger things than pointy ears. She does notice those traits though, having spent quite some time on Earth now. Seeing another non-human that is neither part of her crew nor an enemy is a rare occasion.

She lifts her skirts, giving a curtsy. ]

Good day, sir. Are you also not from around here?

[spohkh]

I am not.

[Spock inclines his head in response to her polite curtsy.]

I am Spock, may I inquire as to your name?

[fairtidings]

[ She has just did a curtsy, but that is what you're supposed to do when you introduce yourself, so.. ]

I am Ahim de Famille, Princess of the [destroyed] planet Famille. However, now, I am part of the crew at the Gokai Galleon.

[spohkh]

[Spock tilts his head in curiosity...]

So this world is run by pirates....

[Spock sounded skeptical. He was a peace-keeping officer after all.]

[Ashley notices the uniform before she notices the ears- the aliens she's used to are generally less human-looking. Fellow military seems like a good guess, and he's obviously not from around here either; enough reason to strike up a conversation.]

Morning. You new here, too?

[spohkh]

Greetings. That is an adequate assessment.

[Spock assess the woman...

I am Spock. May I inquire as to your name?

Ashley Williams. Lieutenant Commander, Systems Alliance...?

[She doesn't really expect him to recognize the Alliance, but everyone seems to be introducing themselves by title in this thread it seems like a good idea, anyway.]

[Spock heard the question....]

I have no knowledge of Systems Alliance... and I believe I can safely assume that you have no knowledge of Starfleet or the Federation?

[Prime Directive be damned.]

[Beside Spock, there's actually someone else who seems to be pretty new to his surrounding as well. And just like him, he seems to be faring rather well with this as one could easily tell from his calm action with the natives. Well, two can play the same game, right?

At one point, Jin is approaching Spock, as harmless as he could.]

I need you to inform me about our whereabouts right now.

[Direct, that's Jin Kisaragi for you.]

[spohkh]

[Spock regarded the man... seemingly unimpressed. Then again, that was a Vulcan default.]

That is not possible, as I do not possess that information. Though I believe it is safe to assume that we are in similar positions...

[Spock quirks an eyebrow.] I am Spock. Who, may I ask, are you?
