Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[He moves to hand her the conch shell when he hears a breathy "Wooooow~ ♥" coming from over his shoulder. And when he cranes his head to see who is there. . .]

I don't believe we've had the chance to speak. [holds out hand]I'm Dr. Jekyll, Henry Jekyll, that is. I wanted to thank you for allowing me on board.

[He lets out a very loud yell and dashes to the opposite side of the beach in .5 seconds flat]

[One of the mermaids had gotten a liiiiittle too close in her attempt to watch his magic show]

[nods. He didn't know the details but he'd put together the important stuff.]

What was he like? Your nakama.

[since this was a guy who had been important to Ace and he was curious. Ace might not be able to talk about him without getting really mad. But maybe Marco could]

[There will always be a small part of her that doesn't like being at sea. Still, it's the only way she can travel to get the silks she needs to make the dresses she wears. If she's going to be stuck somewhere for possibly countless sweeps, at the very least she's going to look damn good during her stay.

She peers over the ledge and catches sight of someone swimming nearby. She almost thinks they're crazy until she notices the trident strapped to the swimmer. Of course it'd be Meenah.

Porrim leans her body over the railing.]

Find anything worthwhile out here?

[She was inches from picking up the shell when Kaito's little freak out comes, Rapunzel shrieks and whips around, frying pan at the ready to wail on whatever threat had caused such a fearful reaction...]

[And it's just one of the mermaids.] Oh! Phew, you scared me there. Kaito, it's alright, it's only... Kaito?

SHE IS TERRIBLE...

[Oh, he figured it out. Hm, hm. How interesting. She'll give chase, but he has pants and she has... A rather bulky dress.]

Where are you going, little morsel? Don't you want to stay?

[Ahri disliked quite a few things about the sea; most of all how the salt water stuck to her fur. She avoided the ship's sides as much as she could, but she still liked seeing how much others enjoyed the ocean, especially Nami. Setting aside the change of worlds, this seemed like just as much Nami's home as the Ionian forests were to a fox.]

Nothing, really. I was just getting bored below deck. Were you thinking about jumping in?

Voles, birds...the occasional poisonous toad... [Who knows if she's joking or not about that last one.]

[She sets aside a shirt she had been folding to greet her customer. Although she prefers someone with coin in their pockets, she's not going to turn down a window shopper. Those are the ones that eventually come back later. At least that's what she's hoping.]

Do you see anything you like?

Oh no, I'm alright, Reisen-san. [She takes a pull on her pipe as the bird shikigami continue to flutter above her.] I'm just out here for a bit of a smoke.

[soundandfurry]

I can settle for birds, but the rest of that stuff sounds pretty gross.

... No offense.

[Yeah, having a sudden person with a face squatting near him was unnerving enough. Having this many people with faces was unnatural and there are no role-holders here.... Well he is the only current role-holder here.

Boris keeps up with the appearance of being asleep.... At least that is until she starts stroking his tail! That was a strange sensation and wasn't sure if it is a nice one or not!]

Not the tail! [It is attached and is now quite fluffed out as Boris blushes.

He was about to say more things until the ear scratching and while it is not petting or rubbing, it still felt good and out comes the purring.]

Heh... would it be odd to say "everything"?

Oh, toads aren't all that bad if you want a quick snack. And frogs aren't either. In fact, in the outside world there's a country where people actually eat their legs.

Not really. That's kind of what I'm going for. Good to know I succeeded.

[She eyes her up and down, as if taking in her measurements.]

I make custom designs, as well.

[Option A: Hanging out on the ship]

[Out of everything that could have happened, he guesses that working on a ship isn't so bad. There's always something to do if one bothers to look for it and the ship is big enough, and so long as he keeps his body busy working his mind won't have much to do. When all else fails he just takes to himself some corner to train.

Ikki's that crew member that always seems to be doing something, whether it is his job or not. And leaving aside comments about "out of the way" and such when he's doing cleaning chores, he rarely is the first one to address to someone. After all, talking requires thinking and what he's aiming for is to not have to think about where he is, who he is and where he should be instead of wasting time roleplaying pirate games.]

[Option B: Exploring an island]

[Personally, Ikki honestly doesn't care at all about where the ship decks or what new islands they find. However, there's always the minimal, astronomically low, possibility of finding something that may help him get back to where he should be... Or at least give him a valid reason by his standards as to why he's here. Of course, the chances for that to happen are so low that he doesn't really consider it possible at the forefront, but it's ultimately the reason why he even bothers to get off the ship and make his way around the island. He may be alone, or some crewmate may he with him, it doesn't really matter to him so long as, if he has company, they don't get in his way just as he will try to not get in their way.]

[ that's fine, because he's just kind of casually cutting the tip of his finger and squeezing a few drops into the ocean below. Gotta keep him on board somehow. ]

I think you better stay on board. For your sake.

It worked just like she'd said. Luffy was sent tumbling across the deck, crashing into the railing before bouncing to his feet.

"You stupid anchor! What was that for?!" It had made him lose his mango! He scooped the slightly squished fruit from off the deck and stomped back toward the hold, determined to find what he was looking for. He pulls open the door again.

Yeah, that still doesn't really sound appetizing.

Oh, well, I mean, uh... you see, I don't have a lot of money... -There was an odd twitching under her hood.-

Oh really? Okay!

[sucks in an even deeper breath, filling up like a balloon a bit]

They say the definition of insanity is trying the same thing multiple times and expecting different results. Once again, the Captain's trap goes off. This time, Kagerou was wise enough to catch Luffy before he shot any further back.
