Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Nah, I'm not worried about that. I'm not ready to die yet. I've already got people trying to kill me.

[He isn't the least bit concerned about it though.]

Of course I am! I couldn't be King if I wasn't strong!

What can you do?

I can fight when I have to, and I can definitely take down sea creatures. I have two Djinn to help me build my kingdom.

Djinn?

They are powerful spirits that guard the dungeons in my world. I've conquered two of them.

...Spirit?

That's right!

[He just smiles but says nothing else on the matter.]

Another term I'm not too familiar with.

Well, all you have to know is that they guard the dungeons and when you defeat the dungeons they take up residence in some form of equipment and go with the user, lending their strength.

That's an awfully confusing system. So you defeat them, and the serve you?

Something like that, yeah.

Interesting! Perhaps I can see how you fight, some day.

Sure, it might come up sometime. You never know when someone's going to try and kill you.

[A table is easy enough to find, but it's clearly designed for adult patrons. Ja'far's not so short that he can't reach the table, but definitely short enough that he ends up having to sit on his knees to be able comfortably reach his food when it arrives. The next problem is that he has to pull down his bandages if he wants to shovel stew in his face. It kind of ruins his assassin-ly image when looks like any other freckly little kid.

He's also not exactly a master of conversation, so he just fixes Sinbad with his usual flat, vaguely threatening stare.]

[Definitely some crazy person. Well, Sinbad is pretty crazy himself, so maybe it's a family thing. That doesn't really bode well, considering he's decided to follow the guy.

Sinbad, that is. Not whoever the hell this is.

Ja'far stops struggling and hangs limply, trying to be as much of a dead weight as possible so that maybe he can just slip free or the guy will get tired of trying to carry him.]
