Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Ja'far follows like the world's most irate duckling. He's not opposed to finding something to eat, but if weird food is Sinbad's idea of mind-blowing adventure, it looks like he's going to have to kill him sooner rather than later.]

Tch. The sea is RIGHT OVER THERE. Can't you smell it?

[He gestures irritably towards the harbor. He's got his face bandaged up and even he can tell their in a port town.]

[The food is just the tip of the iceburg. He tuns and gives Ja'far a bright smile.]

Great! Then we can get a boat after we eat and go and explore somewhere new!

[Sinbad is choosing to be oblivious to Ja'far's anger.]

I'm thirty. THIRTY. [Plus one, but nevermind that. What does little Ja'far know?]

Alright, enough of this.

[He moves suddenly to attempt to swoop Ja'far under one of his arms.]

Now you're nice and young, we can go drink!

[Corrupting a minor? Nah, Sinbad would never do that...]

"Believe in the unbelievable. Then you wont be as surprised about he strange shit that happens." She gave a small shrug to that. It was a good policy to her now a days. After all, the people around here were just as unbelievable as they were back home for her.

"Liz Sherman. Nice to meet you, Leon."

You'll get used to it, unfortunately. Just wait until people you know appear but remember things differently than you. Or even better, when people you don't know arrive and know you better than your mother.

"Story of my life." He chuckled faintly, offering Liz a hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Liz."

That last doesn't startle me, so much as unnerve me. I'm very used to people seeming to know more than they should about me.

[Why does the speaker sound amused? It kind of clashes with the question a little.]

Then either we have very different definitions of "small space" or you've found some different boats. [Sadly the speaker doesn't sound particularly disappointed, though the amusement did go away.]

No. I'm not scared of small places, but I don't like the idea of not having some place to move if something happens.

No matter where they are, everyone's always trapped, if you're just going off that REALLY VAGUE "something happens". Did you know that back on Earth, if a giant meteor came at us, there's no way off the planet? True story. Something will always eventually corner you. So if you're "cornered-phobic"... shit luck there.

I strongly recommend against shooting me, it's really annoying. I don't like being annoyed, and most people don't like me annoyed either.

So you're just annoying instead? [He's noticed this already; what does that say] And my skill is just fine. But if you'd like to not get shot, how about stabbed? I'm quite proficient with my knife too... and if you so much as make a dick joke... [Because, really, something tells Leon that might come up because no one he knows is fully mature]
