Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

A: Town Square!

[One of the new arrivals is a young woman and she looks quite confused. She shouldn't be here. She needed to find someone back in her own world and she couldn't do that from here. But instead of getting angry or upset, she calmly looks at her journal before going off to find someone who can help her answer some questions.]

B: Navy Battle!

[The Navy is attacking the ship and Shanoa is helping to fend them off. She can be found fighting with a scythe that she conjured from one of the glyphs on her shoulders. Every now and then she will cast some kind of fire or ice spell as the attacking naval men, the larger glyph on her back glowing when she does so.]

C: Journal Post!

[Voice post]

Is it really that important to smile? Some of my crew mates seem to think so and are quite determine to make me smile.

[She doesn't sound annoyed though. In fact, she is genuinely confused as to why people want her to smile.]

I don't really see the point in it. It doesn't affect how I do my chores or anything like that.

Games're funner'n chores, that's for damn sure. But I mean if yer scowlin' all the time it makes shit worse, catch me?

I do not think I have a scowl when I do my work. [In fact her expressions are usually blank.]

What kinda face y' like t' make usually?

Why would I make any kind of face? [Yep she still sounds confused.]

Yeah, watch 'em. All the time people's makin' faces an' shit. 'Course I taste 'em more'n watch 'em so sometimes I get confused what they're tryin' t' tell me, but yeah. Think 'bout it. What happens when y' smell somethin' like seriously disgustin'. Like worse'n shit. Like if shit could take a shit. Yer face does a thing, right?

I never took noticed. I just cover my nose and hold my breath.

Also, I do not think waste expelling more waste is possible...

If I sailed before I do not remember. The part of Romania I am from is not close to the sea.

It matters because if you aren't smiling ever, nakama will not feel as though they are fulfilling their duties, eh.

But what if one cannot smile? Are they still not doing their job?

That depends on why you can't.

My emotions were stolen from me, along with my memories. I cannot smile.

What if new memories are made?

I would still not have emotions.

Then you have to tell your crew that. But they will still try. At least if they're a good crew.

Even without emotions there are still ways of acting to show your appreciation for their efforts should you logically wish to do so.
