See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?
Bartolomeo | One Piece
[There is a very strange-looking man in the town square, with a green mohawk up to here and magenta feathers out to there, but what's really strange about him is the way he's acting. He's got a piece of paper in his hands, freshly torn off the wall - it must be a wanted poster, since there are more of them tacked up to the same wall. Moreover, he's goggling at it, gaping, maybe even trembling a little as he beholds the poster.]
N-n-n-no...no way! Aaaaaaaaaah if he's here how am I ever going to face him? I'm supposed to be...! But no. No, maybe this is a joke. But what is this number? He's supposed to be worth four hundred million beli! This has to be a joke!
B
[Your fault for letting this guy onboard your ship.]
Oi! You don't know how to divvy up treasure properly. Everybody gets a share, you know, and if I don't get mine, you ain't gonna be the one making the decisions next time.
A
Are you doing okay there, mate?

Fine! Everything's fine, nope. What's it to you, old man?

Shanoa | Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
[One of the new arrivals is a young woman and she looks quite confused. She shouldn't be here. She needed to find someone back in her own world and she couldn't do that from here. But instead of getting angry or upset, she calmly looks at her journal before going off to find someone who can help her answer some questions.]
B: Navy Battle!
[The Navy is attacking the ship and Shanoa is helping to fend them off. She can be found fighting with a scythe that she conjured from one of the glyphs on her shoulders. Every now and then she will cast some kind of fire or ice spell as the attacking naval men, the larger glyph on her back glowing when she does so.]
C: Journal Post!
[Voice post]
Is it really that important to smile? Some of my crew mates seem to think so and are quite determine to make me smile.
[She doesn't sound annoyed though. In fact, she is genuinely confused as to why people want her to smile.]
I don't really see the point in it. It doesn't affect how I do my chores or anything like that.

Azula - Avatar: The Last Airbender
[Wherever she was, Azula knew she was far from home.
Further than a journey to the poles. Further than Ba Sing Se. Further than the war had reached.
None of the clothes were familiar, and the boats in the docks weren't like any she'd seen before. There were similarities, yes, but she was somewhere very new.
Which was, in the least, irritating. Her moment of triumph had been snatched away from her. She had sat on the throne of Ba Sing Se, something no one in history had done other than the Earth Kings. She had taken over the city.
Here...
She didn't even know where 'here' was.
So, she put on a mild face as she wandered the town, finally reaching out to lightly touch someone on the arm.]
Excuse me. I... I fear I'm very far from home. Can you help me? At least as much as telling me where I am.
Book Two: The Fire-Bender
[The Navy was coming about quickly. It was almost commendable, the way they harnessed the wind to drive forward.
However, it was also foolish.
While the others on this ship scurried about with guns and such, she stood on the bowspirit, firm in her stance. She looked like an easy target, but she dared any of them to try and take her out.
Her feet shifted against the ropes, her sturdying points. When the Navy opened their gun ports to fire and the hull rose on a wave, she attacked.
The fire she called burned so hot it glowed blue. She sent a single, thin stream of it right at the enemy. It flew above the gun revealed, arced over it, and ignited the gundeck. The dry wood caught instantly, and, within a minute, there was an explosion in the bowels of the ship as the powder magazine caught fire and exploded.
She turned her head, smirking, as another Navy ship neared.]
Book Three: The Conquerer
I come here when my supplies are low. The natives are generous.
[And flew her flag. The blue flame on a black background that rose above the island's watchtower was a perfect mimic of the one that flew from her ship's mainmast.
Maijin, the island they were approaching, was one Azula had claimed early on. They were a mostly peaceful people without much need for coin. So, when she had conquered them by demonstrating her power and threatening to burn the lush forests they depended on, they had conceded easily. She hadn't demanded gold as tribute.
Instead, by the time she landed with the small party with her, casks of fresh water were already waiting on the dock along with crates of fruit, salted meat, and three (currently) live boars.]
Supplies for the next four months.
Book One
Uh, 's called Empieza. Jus' from one a the islands 'round here or are y' new new? Like woke up in a shitty fountain new?
no subject
Unless it tried to eat her. Then? It would find out how hot fire could burn.]
I did wake up near a fountain just a few hours ago.
Is this some sort of kidnap-for-ransom?
[Unlikely, as there were no captors visible and no attempts to restrain her.
Besides, no one would be foolish enough to attempt that with the Fire Lord's daughter.]

wow Azula so many books the series isn't about you ok. (AKA princess)
Of course, Azula was not one of the familiar faces he was expecting. Or wanting. Or preparing for. At all. Particularly when he can plainly see she's playing the sweet, lost princess act on some poor shmuck. And worse, he just knows (from that paranoid part of him that almost expects Azula to be some kind of omniscient force out to ruin his life and his perfect hair)--he just knows she's noticed him watching.
So he approaches. Hopefully before she scares the shit of anyone. (Though she seems much less unhinged than the last time he saw her: in prison. . . . Strange.)]
Hey, Azula. What are you up to?
[anyone else would say those very normal lines casually. Zuko, of course, sounds suspicious.
What a touching family reunion]
It should've been. Or so she says.
Time enough for that later.]
Wondering who was stupid enough to kidnap the children of the Fire Lord.
[One was foolishness. Two was inconceivable idiocy.
Even if Zuko was only just on his way to earning that spot back. But she'd see to that easily enough.]
And getting hungry.
We should find somewhere for lunch, Zuzu.
Johnny | Guilty Gear Series
Ugh...
[Johnny held his head as he groggily sat up, re-adjusting his sunglasses as the all-too-unforgiving sun hit his eyes. Not the first time he'd woken up in the outdoors, in an unfamiliar location. Finishing a bottle or two of merlot tended to facilitate that.]
I suppose it could be worse, I didn't wake up in a cell. Small favors, I suppose.
[He removes his hat to fan himself as he goes on a search for some food and drink.]
It's clearly time for a tried and true hangover cure. I need to gather the right ingredients...Hm. Strange, I don't recall having money like this in my pocket. Or reading material.
[Lost at Sea]
[His hands pushed up against the side of the larger, unfamiliar boat as he looked up from his dinghy. Finally, some human contact.]
Ha ha ha! Hello, my friend! I was wondering if I might impose on your hospitality, since I seem to be somewhat lost. The seas and islands are rather unpredictable in this place, not quite like they are back home.
Lost at sea
She peers over the edge of her small boat with an imperial gaze.]
Do you intend to work? Or merely to offer your company in return for food?
[Hint: the correct answer order is 'yes' and 'no.' A "ma'am" or "miss" wouldn't hurt, either.]
no subject
Oh ho? What's this, now? It seems that this lovely ship has a fair Captain to match. Good morning, Miss. Yes, I'd love nothing more than to help out on your vessel! I have years of experience as a pirate, and I firmly believe in repaying any generosity shown to me.
In fact, I've little choice in the matter! As you can see, I'm entirely at your mercy.

Town Square
[When she reaches the square she notices a man who looks fairly lost. She figures he is a newcomer. Her suspicions are confirmed when she sees his journal and over hears him muttering about it.]
That journal is how you communicate with other people who are also stranded in this world.

town square
[there's a man hanging out near the fountain, stretched out like he's sunning himself, with a bottle of dark rum sitting on the ground next to his knee. Scars across his chest and left eye, green hair, three swords, he's pretty ridiculous. But looking utterly relaxed and cool.]
Just gotta learn to pace yourself.
