Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

Aye a few people are here and there, not weak ones either. Navy... [he wiggles his hand] they tend to leave well enough alone until they don't. But you'll have to make a big noise for you to be bountied even decently here.

Something else, eh, mate? Even old timer. [the drinks come and he takes a sip of his]
I've been here too long some days. So I can steer your right if you want.

There's someone I'd like to sail out to meet, but until then, information is information. The locals don't wanna give out any, so if you've got some, I'll take it.

[let me guess. He's about 5'7" or so and wears a particular brand of hat]

I saw the wanted lists, so I know there's pirates. How tough are they? An what is there for a guy to get his hands on if he wants to have some fun?

As for the first, it depends on what you mean by tough. Give me an example. [since he has no idea what this rookie can even do] As for the second hmm.... Isla de la Passion is always fun, Turvey Top, Centaurea, Yuezhong if you want a real good time.

Tough like a Donquixote executive, tough.

[best measure of his current level, in his estimation. Standing in a ring with one totally counts, let's not talk about how hardly anyone even hit each other...]

Hmm that guy. [scratches his jaw thoughtfully.] You might able to find a few about that caliber. None really matching Doflamingo that I've seen. But could be.

[he grins at the latter comment and raises his beer in a half salute] You don't know the half of it. [he almost regrets foisting the guy on them but it's a subtle revenge for all the awkwardness] I think you'd have fun.

Good. [gulps down some of his drink, dribbling from his fangs] On both accounts. I don't wanna just lay around here with my thumb up my ass, I wanna have some real fun. Strengthen up so that when I get back, I can really show 'em all a good time.

[thumb or ass he's not sure what he feels sorrier for] Good luck, mate. Though out of curiosity, what are you gunning for over there exactly?

Oh, I got a big dream, pops. You probably wouldn't understand.

[he leans both arms on the bar, fiddling with the glass of booze and looking up and away into the wild blue yonder.]

If I ever wanna even have a whisper of a chance at being worthy enough to be part of his crew, I gotta be able to keep up with him. All of 'em. They're so great, I wanna sail with them someday!

[is he crying? He's probably crying.]

You really want to be part of that crew so bad? [sips his drink thoughtfully and leans away from the miniature waterfall that is Barty] As far as I've seen the criteria for joining is just to exist.

Of course I do! [huff huff...and then he wilts] Don't be ridiculous. Luffy is too amazing, he wouldn't just let a guy like me on board with him unless I proved I was worthy.
