Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

Nah. That guy's way too busy to be off exploring new world, making friends and enemies alike, and bumming around offering random rookies drinks for showing up in new worlds unexpectedly, eh.

[Starts heading off to get that drink he casually half-offered, mostly just hinted at suggesting, and whistles for the baby chicken to come along.]

I mean what kind of pirate would run around with his tattoo on his chest for all the world to see, eh? He'd certainly have to expect all the locals to be familiar with it, wouldn't he?

But then maybe not if it's a new world like he says though, aye? [Final test to see how quickly this rookie catches on.]

[NOPE TOO LATE he already caught on. His eyes had gone straight to the tattoo (because tattoos on the chest are the best, man) and now Barty is cowering with his hands clenched in his generous crest of floofy hair going oh shit oh shit oh shit]

[but...he did say something about a drink. Bartolomeo chances a look up and then takes a step to follow]

And none taken. It does sound pretty crazy at first. I lucked out in meeting my brother first although even that was kind of a shock.

[he picks himself up and trots along, not quite the puppy at the heels like he would be with Luffy but still pretty impressed. After all, any crewmate of Luffy's brother who also distinguished himself amazingly at Marineford is worth the awe.]

Does that mean there's a lot of folks here from our world? Not just Luffy-senp...I mean, Straw Hat Luffy?

Mostly my brothers, or Straw Hats. One mermaid from our world: Keimi, she's with the Straw Hats, she's a friend of theirs. [He mentally ticks through a list.] Law and Bepo of the Heart pirates. Also traveling with the Straw Hats.

Dark King Rayleigh and Shakki were here for a little bit, but they're gone too now.

[Fond grin.] It's probably just as well. They'd wreak a lot of havoc.

[And their era is past.... or something like that. Actually that's too dark for Marco to think much about........... SO HE WON'T.]

But I grew up on Loguetown, seeing that platform every day. The Pirate King is big news! Always has been, always will be!

Ace could probably tell you some good stories about his little brother, but he's not here, and Jinbei and Thatch took the brunt of a lot of the rest of the stories, but they'd probably be too annoyed to really repeat them.

Is Loguetown exciting? [He's guessing not.]

Loguetown? Eh, no, not really. I was kind of an underground boss there, it was the only thing to do, really. Nothing as exciting as being a pirate on the open sea, though!

If you die, you go to Davy Jones locker, but not gone forever. Sort of. It's a whole big time-space continuum thing that I haven't solved yet and Robin hasn't forgiven me for. [Girls. Whatcha gonna do? Marco's just gonna drink now.]

It's complicated. And why I'm not in a rush to go back without figuring it all out first. Thatch is also alive here. Fourth division commander, if you'd heard of him. Just don't mention Blackbeard to any of my brothers, eh.
