See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
Haruka Nanase | Free! Iwatobi Swim Club
[what do you do?]

Yo. Are you actually a Fishman?

[he thinks about it, getting a dreamy look on his face. would that mean he would live in the ocean forever? always swimming? he could only dream about a world like that. if only, man in a barrel, if only.]
No.
no subject
[he's hoping there's a ship or island or something nearby. He's been in this barrel for a while now]
no subject
[Haruka considers this for a moment, lingering near the barrel for a bit]
I was suddenly on an island, so I started to swim out. [pause] But I took a break on a small island a couple of hours ago.
[actually, now that he pays attention to the man, there's something odd here that's bothering him]
Why are you in a barrel?

[It's called from the side rail. Kyouya doesn't look too worried. His voice is raised just enough to carry down to the swimmer. He has since worked out precisely how to look his best, even at sea.
His only concern right now is that the other young man is, in fact, simply swimming and not, say, struggling with the water and in need of a line to help him get up onto the ship.]
no subject
Yes. But I could use a break.
no subject
[True to his word, Kyouya goes... forward. Yes, that's the term. Forward, toward the stern.
He's learning.
He let's down a knotted line, a thick cord to offer a decent grip, right even with the carved spaces.]
no subject
so much effort...]
[nonetheless, after some internal debate with an inner voice that sounded a lot like Makoto, he resigns himself and starts to climb up]
Thanks.
no subject
[He even has a towel ready, offered out to the other. There's a small smile on his features.]
How far have you been swimming? Must have been awhile. [He sounds mildly impressed though still polite. And, to be polite:]
My name is Kyouya Otori.

He looked out at the water anxiously and saw something floating around a bit of a ways out. It brought him comfort to think of Haru swimming all the way out there like the crazy guy he is.
...wait a second... ]
HELLO. STUPIDLY LATE.
It couldn't be...
Nothing changes but the weather.
Not that he thought Haru couldn't handle himself out there but he was still very concerned about his friend's well-being all the way out there and decided that it would be best to call out to him and potentially rescue him. ]
Harrrrruuuuuuu!!
HELLO, STUPIDLY LATE BACK
two thoughts immediately jump to mind: a) Makoto is here and b) Makoto is here surrounded by the OCEAN and he is probably worried and well he needs to make sure he is ok.
so he starts swimming in the direction of the island]
no subject
Though he couldn't really see how one could swim at a time like this but it is Haru...
However, it still gave him a wave of relief to watch his longtime friend change the direction of his stroke to head toward shore. He smiled and, despite his horrendous apprehension, approached the water to patiently await his arrival
and potentially give away his jacket in the case of coldness. Surely Haru was one not to think ahead about that kind of thing.]no subject
He came out of the water and into the sandy beach only wearing his jammers, his clothes forgotten on the island where he had first shown up, and walked up to his friend]
Makoto. You're here.
no subject
...you brought that? Did you know we were coming here? And more importantly, where are your clothes??
[ He's shocked but not surprised that he seems to be the only one thinking of this. ]

[he takes a short paddle break and looks out into the distance to see something swimming along, it must be a fish, or a dolphin, only a dolphin could be so graceful...]
Hmm... [thinking to himself and pushing up his glasses, he could swear that thing has hair. and is human. If only he could paddle in a straight line to get to meet it...]
no subject
if only he could live here forever]

[Growing more frustrated with each calculation, he decides on his best option, despite it being the most crude]
