Welcome to our first Test Drive for
![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Haru takes the jacket, because he is starting to get a little cold now that he is out of the water, and puts it on. Predictably, it fits him at least 2 sizes too big, so he starts folding the sleeves a little, while making A FACE at that second comment]
I don't get sick.
[having made that VERY TRUE STATEMENT, he starts looking around. There is some sand, obviously, and a dense amount of trees in front of them, but there is nothing else to see - at least from that point of view]
Maybe there are no people here.
no subject
Of course you don't. But just in case, we should probably find something--
[ However, the second statement catches him off guard. He looks around as well and sees pretty much the same nothingness. ]
--you think we're on a deserted island? Were there any people on the other island you were on?
[ It's suddenly very creepily quiet all around them. ]
no subject
[Which is why he had been pleased to leave it: that island had been really overpopulated. Haru looks back in the distance from where he came - there is nothing there but water, water and more water]
But I left it a few hours ago.
[obviously, that isn't the answer. Mentally saying goodbye to his old clothes - it had been a very good school uniform - Haruka turns to Makoto]
Should we go?
no subject
[ Wait.
If there were so many people on the other island, why did Makoto have to end up on the weirdly deserted one..? He must have developed a new habit of sleep swimming even though that seems pretty unlikely. ]
Go where? Into that forest??
[ He glanced over at the creepy looking forest in front of him with wide eyes. ]
I think we should go the other way--
[ Turning around, all he could see was the ocean in front of him. ]
--the forest it is. You lead the way.
[ Not that he was hiding behind Haru or anything. He just felt safer with the other one at the lead. ]
no subject
It's the only way to go.
[nonetheless, he walks slow so Makoto can keep up behind him. Also, he makes sure to go through the less dense area so there's still plenty of light coming in and they can see where they are going.
and if Makoto wants to cling to him, he's not gonna say anything, as usual]
no subject
He has a feeling they're taking this particular less scary path on purpose too... ]
Do you know where you're going--
[ Sudden SNAP in the bush near them and Makoto jumps and hides behind Haru completely ineffectively. ]
Let's leave the forest, Haru!
no subject
[although he is definitely not gonna mention that weird movement he saw out of the corner of his eye. It was probably an animal, so there really isn't a point in freaking out Makoto even more.
SO, HE KEEPS WALKING]
Otherwise, we'd have to go back, sit on the beach and wait for a boat to go by.
no subject
--oh.
[ Well, he feels slightly silly but this sort of behavior is not really new to either of them so he gets over it pretty quickly and continues allowing Haru to play the fearless leader.
Makoto looks around the woods. It's not too bad...
Trees...
Rocks...
Stumps... ]
We don't even now if that's going to happen...
[ Weird animal glowing eyeballs............. ]
At least you're here though.
no subject
[he doesn't really say it, but he's glad Makoto is here, too. Otherwise he'd probably still be swimming without a general direction until dusk, when he'd be cool, wet, and without any clothes.
All these corny thoughts are cut short when he hears more rustling, and what sounds like a growl. Now Haruka is definitely starting to get nervous, but he can't let Makoto know or he'll definitely be scared. But it was HIS idea to go into the forest, so it has to be his responsibility to take them out]
Makoto, let's walk faster.
no subject
He's too caught up in his thoughts about Haru and scary things to notice the rustling but he is definitely observing a quickened pace. And a bit more tension. ]
Hey wait! What's going on, do you see something? Are we almost out?
[ Suddenly the rustling becomes louder and there's no way Makoto could have missed it that time. Suddenly, you've got two hands gripping your shoulders as Makoto lets out a yell. ]
Nagisa, if that's you, this isn't funny!
no subject
[ok so that's not necessarily TRUE in that Haruka hasn't really seen the end of the forest, but he's sufficiently scared now that he definitely doesn't wanna stay behind and find out just what is in that forest.
So he grips Makoto's arm from his shoulder and starts running, pulling him]
no subject
Even though Haru wasn't completely positive about the light at the end, he ended up being correct and they would soon be free of the forest!!
Of course, Makoto being the easily scared person he is, hovers close to Haru, clinging the back of his jacket, even as they exit the woods and HOPEFULLY THE DANGER AS WELL. ]
How long did you say you were swimming for? Maybe we could try finding the town instead of going back in there.
no subject
[Wow, is he glad for all the times he went running in the morning now, because he is only a little out of breath. He gives a quick look around - there's dirt and little hills and some fruit trees, but still no sign of people.
And the sun is going down]
Maybe we should find somewhere to sleep.
no subject
It is starting to get dark. Walking in the dark might not be safe, someone could slip or roll their ankle.
[ Makoto hasn't quite let go of Haru's shirt at the point and proceeds to kick around a patch of sand that they are standing on. ]
It's not like we've never slept on the beach before, right? Just like that time we went camping!
[ He forces a laugh and then slowly releases his deathgrip, shaking out his hand foolishly. ]
Think you can rough it another night?
no subject
I guess so. I hope it doesn't rain, though.
[starts looking around for a bed of leafs or something they can drag to make the ground less... ground-y]
no subject
He looks up at the sky and then back to Haru. ]
Doesn't look like it. Should we put something together anyway? [ He glances at the many potentially comfortable looking leaves in the forest. ] Don't go into there for leaves though. [ Turning away, he starts flattening the sand out with his foot, looking like he just knows that this is going to be completely ineffective and stupid.
At least Haru is there so it can be a hilarious memory to talk about down the road rather than a hideous experience that could have left him scarred. Where were they anyway? ]
no subject
i mean, nagisa and rei would both be loud as hell]
I'll just get the ones at the edge.
[though he still eyes them warily, just in case so weird animal (or worse) jumps at him when he's distracted]
Where do you think we are?
no subject
He watches Haru go to fetch some of the border leaves and keeps a close on him from a distance. ]
I don't know. If we were both swimming, it'd make sense to think we got lost but I just woke up here.
[ He's beginning to think about how uneasy he is again so he fronts a smile and he sits down, hands on his knees. ] It'd definitely have a lot more energy with the other guys, wouldn't it Haru? [ Though he knows Haru wouldn't prefer that... ]
