Test Drive for July 2014 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

A: Just arriving

[There's a young teenage girl in a black dress and a red hooded cape running around town, yelling.]

Yang! Blake! Weiss! Come on guys, where are you!? I don't want to be here by myself...

[She's not exactly watching where she's going, so chances of her running into someone, literally are very high.]

B: battle with the Navy

[My, that's a big scythe this girl is swinging at the Navy sailors who have managed to board the ship. Just a little while before that scythe was a gun, but the time for long range attacks is over.

[At least she's pretty skilled at using the thing. Though, she's only knocking out navy guys with it, rather than seriously injuring them.]

[peter_the_phnx]

[Peter was flying higher above the others, trying to keep an eye out for who needs help. Once in a while a bust of air and wind would shoot past others as he sent a swirl of wind at someone or other, but otherwise he was on watch.]

[He would dive down, giving a sonic blast or a wind gust to one or another. Like right now. The girl with the lumbering scythe. He noticed her knock out method, which he approved of. One such sailor however was getting up behind her. He dove down, whooshing past her and flapped hard, hovering at her back as he let out a deep worbbling sound, sonic rings shooting out at the Navy man. He directed them only at the man, vibrating the air around him and knocking him down once again, unconscious.]

I’ve got your back! [he chirped happily, a human child sized Phoenix, flapping behind her and knocking people out as well, when he can.]

[Ruby turns at the worbbling sound, just in time to see a Phoenix knock out the Navy man with his attack.]

Whoa... Cool!

[She gives him a cheerful grin.]

Thanks Mr. Birdie! I'll watch your back too!

[peter_the_phnx]

[he gave a chipper kind of sound at her cheerful response. At least she wasn’t upset that he came to help. He flapped to dodge a hit from another, and then flung his wings at him to shoot a wave of air at the guy, watching him twist in place and fall over.]

No problem! But what happened? Aren’t these the local knights? Why are they attacking?

[he doesn’t understand civil wars. He doesn’t care for battles, though he’s very good at it. You have to be when you're fighting demons, but these look like humans!]

[Ruby ducks under another guy's swing and kicks his legs out from under him.]

I don't know... [Whack! She hits the guy with the back of her scythe and knocks him out.]

We didn't do anything wrong. I mean, we're the good guys, right? This is totally not fair!

[And she brings the scythe around to knock out another Navy man.]
