Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

[He felt bad for her in this way, not being able to do things like he could. He thought it must be tough for her that way, but wanting her to enjoy this place as much as he hope he would he smiled.]

Then why don't I carry you around? It wouldn't be that hard. [He knew he was at least controlling his strength better and wasn't so worried about hurting people as much now.]

[but she recomposes herself, analyzing the possibilities] A-Ah, but it's probably not such a good idea. If the island has any aggressive natives or feral animals, it'll be hard to protect me.

[He pauses for a moment and figures she did bring up a good point.]

I don't think it would. Then again, that is just me. [He gives a small laugh. He is use to having to protect the house, but that was different, he never had to protect someone who was physically there at the time.]

I mean, maybe there is trouble, but it still doesn't mean someone should get left behind.

[witcraft]

I think I'd feel worse if something happened and we both got injured than if I stayed behind and you came back in one piece.

[stretches in her chair a little, yawning to give off the pretense that she isn't very interested] Besides, it's okay. I'm a witch, so I'll prepare a good luck charm for those that are heading out!

[He stretches, arms raised in the air for a moment before he put them behind his head.]

The people here are strong, I trust that they would be safe. [He looks over with a smile.] Then I'll stay too. I mean after all if this place was dangerous, it would be a good idea for someone to stay and help protect you if it's needed, right?

[witcraft]

That's true. It'd be dangerous for the whole crew to go off exploring. Someone should stay behind and protect our ship.

[his words make her feel a little better; really she had wanted to see the island, but staying behind will be more fun with someone for company] If you'd like, I could show you some of my magic! There are lots of spells I have to do alone, but there are plenty I can do with someone else in the room, too.

[Finnian looked a little happy for a moment, he's never really seen magic to when someone offers to show him some, he was a little excited.]

I would like that very much. I do admit though staying on the ship with people can be fun to. [But staying at home was always something he did at home except for the odd occasion where he didn't need to do his real job.]
