Test Drive for July 2014 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for [community profile] high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

See you during the application round!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

"That's right, a lord," she affirmed, mistaking his reaction for disbelief rather than confusion over the title's gender. Either the residents of Wolfsschlucht had never bothered to correct her, or they had simply grown out of touch with the common courtesies of their time or the official translators are going to change her title later, who knows — but Sieglinde did not seem particularly bothered as she continued brushing twigs and dirt off her shoulders.

"Anyway, I already knew that." Her tone was casual, but there was an edge of smugness in it that suggested she vaguely enjoyed knowing things that other people didn't. "I don't know why you don't remember me, but it's not important. Maybe you suffered more memory loss than I thought you did. Is Sebastian with you? He should remember me — he's the one who taught me English."

"I'll visit Aeoli... whatever later. Say, do you have a boat we can get to? I fell overboard mine" — rather atrociously unlucky, to fall overboard a ship and then crash-land on an island — "and I don't think I can get back now. I'll have to try and find them again."

It was probably for the best that she'd misinterpreted it so he saw no need to correct her on the matter. So the strange girl fancied herself as a lord, she wasn't the only one that had a wild imagination in this place. Just so long as she didn't expect him to bow and scrape at her feet, then they could get on well enough. " Wolfsschlucht- that's German, right?" It was such a guttural language, lacking the elegance of English.

"So it would seem but I would have been remiss in my etiquette not to return the exchange," She'd called him Ciel before- having left off his title entirely. Were they on that level of familiarity back home? The tone he could have done without, he knew he was at the disadvantage here. "Memory loss too?" He huffed," I was apparently falling apart in every way imaginable...." That was an excellent question he would like to pose to her. Where was Sebastian when he was getting horribly injured in her timeline and losing his memory? That demon had been slacking. "Yes- he is. I trust he was not as harsh with your studies as he is with mine?"

"I didn't just walk to this island... " So yes, there was a ship. "When we make it to the ship, you may use our Nav. It needs one more day to recharge however..." No it didn't... but he was curious to learn more of the events she'd witnessed.

With an almost triumphant flick of the wrist Sieglinde managed to remove the last of the twigs that had embedded themselves into her sleeves. "Yes, Wolfsschlucht is German for 'wolf's ravine.' You don't remember going to Germany, either? I don't really know how far away Germany is from England, but it must have been a long trip..." She frowned, still unaware that the cause of his memory loss was not the miasma but the world they were currently in — but she was beginning to have her suspicions. "Perhaps there's some other reason...?"

She listened to his comments patiently, at least up until he asked about his servant. "Is he harsh with you?" she asked curiously. It was difficult for her to imagine Sebastian being harsh when — as far as she had seen — he had been the epitome of the perfect butler, and always had sweets to spare. "I thought he was really quite patient with me. And he spoke the most excellent German!"

Very slowly the little witch rose to her feet with the support of a nearby tree, wincing slightly when she lost balance for a moment and put pressure on her toes — but soon enough she was firmly anchored on her heels and capable of walking. "Anyway, I don't know if I would say you were falling apart... well, you weren't dead anyway, thanks to my treatment. I can tell you what happened to you if you'd like — but do you mind leading me back to your ship first?"
