Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

You look like a demon. I'm gathering that, wherever you're from, your kind are common enough sights no one asks these things.

[He is getting the impression you want him to start guessing fish species and recognizes the fact that you vaguely resemble a shark; but he resents the sense he's getting that "landshark" is supposed to suddenly not be a stupid concept.]

[Namur bursts out laughing.]

Ain't y' got sharks in yer world? Most people can usually manage t' bust that out right at first. 'S only part true, but still. Fishman's the word yer lookin' for though. Cuz I look kinda like a fish an' kinda like a human. Mush 'em t'gether. Fishman. [Namur gestures with his hands- webbed between the fingers, incidentally- making that sweeping gesture like seeing your name put up in lights or a billboard. Then he smacks the man's elbow with the back of his knuckles.] Give part credit for them that says shark though since that's what type a fishman I am. But damn, dude. Demon? The hell kinda place y' comin' from?

[He startles and scowls at the tap.]

One with ocean-bound fish. [The idea of walking fish offends Ravenshead's sensibilities somehow. It's just... no. Namur is a demon. A sharkdemon. It's more logical.] Fish don't have legs and... it's...

[He sighs, removing his glasses to massage his eyes.] There's going to be a lot of things like this here, aren't there.

Ain't y' ever heard a mermaids? Same species.

'Cept Nami. Guess her people's more like actual fish an' they all look the same. Y' know. Fishy tails an' similar colors an' that kind a shit. But me an' Keimi's the same species. Hell, she could be my daughter for all I know, sheheheheh!!!

[But that actually makes him feel kind of weird because he thinks she's the cute kind of hot and that'd be awkward, to say the least. The doctor might notice a slight discoloration creeping over Namur's face, but Namur decidedly ignores it.]

An' yeah, 's kinda a crazyass place. Weirder'n home in some ways, not quite so crazy in others. But y' get used t' it.
