Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

For shame! What kind of hero oozes such thin watery juices when squeezed in a waffle iron of adversity? Instead of collapsing like so much greasy dough, you should be baking to a rich and powerful golden brown!

But... but I'm not quite sure what to do about the... waffle iron.

Hyahya, a waffle cannot do anything about a waffle iron! It is its fate to be pressed! Instead, you should worry about what kind of waffle you will become!

But I don't want to be a waffle! I want to get back to civilization!

So you no longer wish to be a hero, cooked spicy hot and fierce over the flames? Are you content to be a soggy noodle left clinging to the pot while your al dente companions are mixed with the sauce of triumph?!

But I think I'm getting lost....

How can you be lost, when you are standing right where you are? You know exactly where you are! It is everything else that has gone missing. That is an important distinction!

Either way... I need to be where everything else is.

Then it seems you have both yourself and your goal. Does a hero need more ingredients than that?

I could use a ship, or some other means of transportation. Unless I'm suppose to swim.

Do you expect one to simply fall out of the sky at your wish? Do you sit and beg for meat, instead of going out and fighting a beast yourself to stock the pantry?

Well... I was hoping someone would come get me.

Have you learned nothing? If anything is to come for you, it will be the fork that moves you to the pan!

For shame, Almaz! Your meager troubles are one drop of soup compared to the boiling stockpot of Mao or your lady fair! What kind of hero cries out for rescue?

The kind trapped on a deserted island in the middle of the ocean?

If I served a noodle bowl that whimpered, I would be ashamed! A noodle bowl must have spice and flavor! It does not beg to be eaten, it demands to be eaten!
