Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

More just... weird. Like, really weird. But... not important.

[She shakes her head, trying to smile just a bit.]

Never mind, really. Isn' important.

Thanks for the food, though. Seriously. I did get a little full of myself, back then.

I grew up with Good Ol' Boys. Someone writin' a check they can' cash? Pretty common.

[And she chuckles a bit at it, leaning back as she takes another bite of the cooked bird.]

Always funny t' see 'em fall on their ass, have t' say.

Ha ha! Well, I do plenty of that.

You know, most people don't think it, but I am actually pretty competent when it comes to getting things done. I just get in a lot of trouble when left to my own devices, if there's nobody to keep me grounded. Back on the ship it was Jim, and then my crew.

Hey, I totally buy you'd be jus' fine huntin' a bounty. Huntin' to eat's just differen'.

[Because there it wasn't a "bring in alive" or "bring in dead in any condition."

It was probably a bad thing she already didn't care much who she associated with here. Bounty hunters, thieves, pirates... Whatever didn't just shoo her off.]

I thought a forest would be easier, without all the buildings and vehicles and human traffic to get in the way.

Whole differen' worlds.

Also, that cliff really snuck up on me.

[Easy enough, and another bite of food. Along with a drink of water.]

[Gene takes a few minutes to choke down a rather large hunk of cooked meat, before gulping down his water.]

So, what did you do for fun, back on your world? Any crazy stories?

Some parties, concerts, things like that.

[But for fun... For real fun...]

Been thinkin' 'bout a roadtrip.

Hm...Well, I guess you could say we're all on an extended sea-trip.

Ain't the same, though.

Road trip isn' about how y' get there, even where you're goin'.

Then what's it about?

It's 'bout who y're with. The friends, the fights, the... everythin'.

[caster_blaster]

Yeah, I guess I can see your point. I think my life is pretty much one long road trip.

Don' even know where I'd go if I took one. But... m' friends an' I? Definitely need one.
