♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

[Marie offered her own slight smile. It was just a little one, a hint of the tease he'd given returned.

She'd gone a day or two without meals before, but she'd always been able to talk someone into buying her a bag of chips or sharing a donut or something when she'd been on the road. It hadn't ever felt like really "surviving." Not like this.

Without him? This would've been a lot worse.

After another couple bites, she looked at the journal and sighed. They'd spoken to a crew a few days ago, sent out a kind of SOS.]

Think our rescue party got lost.

I've never been good with identifying fish as it is. Rabbit, however, is easier. Big ears and a tail? Edible.

[with out her he would have been eaten by a whale by now. He calls it even. besides, he's gruff and has an agenda, but he's not heartless to children, and she's young. He's completely ignoring the 'Charles' voice in the back of his mind as well.]

[He glanced at the journal they had managed to salvage and he let out a huff of air at it.]

The Navy has been active in the waters lately. Perhaps there has been a delay.

[It doesn't help that they have no idea what island this is, but there were no living humans on it, or he'd have felt them through the magnetic vibrations of the earth]

[Marie takes another few bites of her stew, considering his point. The Navy.

She gives a kind of shudder, even though it's not cold out. She can still remember the men with guns who stormed the mansion. That fear.]

As long as the Navy doesn't find us.
