Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

At least you know how to keep busy. Not bad work, considering the lack of good resources.

[She glances up from the blade and gives the stranger a nod.]

Forgive me if this is too forward, but are you here to rescue me? I-I've been marooned for quite some time.

[He mulled the question over, blowing a plume of smoke out of the side of his mouth.]

I wouldn't say I'm prone to rescuing anyone. However, I could take you along. Do you have any great talents, beside making sharp little trinkets?

Besides blacksmithing? [Her tone is soft, slightly worried. That's been her only marketable skill for as long as she can remember.]

I'm afraid that's my only great skill. I am a c-capable sailor, though!

[Which isn't surprising. She'll find herself right at home in a crow's nest, after all.]

I assure you, however, that I can make much more than mere trinkets. In my home, I am something of a-a master.

Then you can craft greater weapons? How great is your level of metallurgical skill, would you say?

But of course! I have worked with most metals at one point or another, and I can create an adequate weapon out of just about a-anything!

[She gestures at the dagger, for emphasis.]

I am also skilled at making far greater items. A-Although, in my experience, it takes more than just metal, if you wish to make something truly grand.
