Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Show yourself fiend! It is a bold move to aim such wickedness toward one such as myself. Not to mention hiding my lord and companion. Tell me where they are post haste and I may show mercy upon you.

[Everyone else might have been comfortable out at sea, but Futo found herself very unsure. There hadn't been a sign of land for days, and she did not trust water so deep. What if a dragon came to challenge them?]

Surly we are all doomed sitting here out in the unknown!

Oh calm down and eat an orange. -There was no negotiation on the matter. Tojiko pretty much shoved it in Futo's mouth.- Your needless panic is making ME worry.

[It took her a moment to recover, taking a bite out of the orange as she pulled it out.]

How is it needless? Unknown waters are nothing but death!

And what would you rather us do? Wait on that first island?

No, that would not have been a good choice. However... I would rather have more precautions.... Perhaps if I were stronger I could use flight for further distances... or, if I had half the talent of Taishi sama devise a better method of movement as we have in Gensokyo....

If only she were here with us....

... That's enough of that, Futo. She would appreciate our longing for her, but not our making excuses for ourselves based on her absence.

It is not an excuse to not trust such a time away from land. Have you ever heard such such a thing? Even to go across the western sea they must first go to land and cross again, and that is a journey still less than this.

It doesn't matter. It is our lot now and we've no choice but to go along with it. Our only path is forward, Futo. Find the jewel, and return to our prince.

And hope we do not drown in the process.

I'll snatch you up from the blue should you ever find yourself in such a situation.

I suppose if we flew in shifts....

How much worse do you think my sea sickness would be if I had no boat beneath me!?

Is not half the sickness the movement of the boat?

But still, why are you sick to begin with?

I'm... not certain. I couldn't tell you why this is. I think it has to be some kind of nervous condition, as I obviously no stomach to be churned.

It is an odd condition to have, perhaps taking your mind of such worries will work best?

What do you propose?

Yes! Something that will preoccupy your mind, and let the other worries ease away.

Perhaps... embroidery?

Is this your way of telling me your garments need repairing again.

I am perfectly capable of repairing my own clothing.... But, it did seam as if it might be a fitting hobby.

[And perhaps having someone else repair them was a bit easier.]
