See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
all the pouting
When Tamaki saw the first shot fired towards them, and Kyouya's hand was on his wrist, he immediately jumped towards Kyouya, as if trying to protect him. He'd often talk about the splendor of dying as a pirate, but he did not want any of his loved ones to die upon the open sea...specially not his best friend. ]
I know that. What are you doing out on deck?
premature graying, that's what's being caused
[It would take a few minutes for both sides to reload. And to come around for another good shot at one another. Kyouya tried to think, tried to recall anything he'd learned about tactics in the very, very short time he'd been here, but... nothing came under this stress.
Problems he couldn't talk his way out of were still very rare, very foreign for him.]
There were at least eight muzzle flashes. [Eight guns a side. They had six a side.] Probably a better trained crew at the cannons and at fighting, too.
[Fleeing was not a bad option. If they could get enough speed...]
NOOOOO, that won't look good... right?
[Kyouya was always the best in tactics. No matter how good Tamaki worded everything and pretended to be the brains of the operation, in the end, it was always Kyouya's thoughts which he always consulted in any decision.]
We're outgunned. [He nodded.] So the crew must do their best to win this fight! [He gives Kyouya a winning smile] I shall do my best~!
...Probably not.
Alright. [Tamaki came up with the insane ideas... Kyouya figured out how to make them reality.] We'll want grapeshot this round. Take out some of their men on the deck.
[Cold blooded murder. Though they had been fired on first.]
...We'll have to let them get close enough to make sure our shots hit.
Aww Kyouya XD
Aye, Aye! [He said trying his best to mimic a natural pirate. He doesn't like the idea of killing other pirates, but this is apparently how pirates conduct their business.] We just need more precise shots then. It will be risky...
but hopefully we can reduce the casualties? [This was Tamaki pleading that deaths to both sides be limited.]

[His voice lowers briefly, the slightest hint of warmth in it. Because, well, sometimes there are things where he has to soften. Hearing Tamaki want to keep as many people as possible alive when their enemy would probably like to slaughter them all is one of them.
But the brief moment passes as soon as it came, and he manages a brisk, almost callous nod.]
If possible.
[As if the loss of life is nothing. As if killing comes naturally.
Because out here, it seems to. And Kyouya's facade is always that which is expected of him, what he needs to be -- rather than what he really is.]
no subject
[After all, no matter how cool it is to pretend to be a cutthroat pirate, the reality is not as pleasant. Real lives are on the line. He releases Kyouya from the embrace with burning passion evident in his eyes.]
Tell me what to do~!
no subject
[He is ignoring the hug for right now. There's no time to roll his eyes, and acknowledging it without doing that or the like might set a precedent.
His eyes are scanning the deck. He knows next to nothing about what to actually do. He picked up only a fraction of an idea about naval tactics from Lady Maribelle.]
WHY did you ask?
[He quickly twirls away from Kyouya and swinging his rapier elegantly as if he was engaged in swordplay.]
A prince like me knows how to fence~ [He had to do something with his free time in the Second Mansion. He always woke up early with nothing to do before he met Kyouya.]
Leave nothing to chance!
[He shouts a few orders for the guns and the helmsman, the ship shifting as it begins to turn. Some grapeshot to do damage to the people on deck, some chainshot to try and cripple the ship.
And--]
Starting tomorrow, I need you to teach me. [He's quickly learning that not knowing combat here will get him killed.]
Haha
[He waits for Kyouya to finish with his instruction, and grants him a bright smile.] Of course I will~!
...but I'd much rather you never find it necessary to learn or use such skills~! [Puppy-dog eyes.]
no subject
[The guns roared, and Kyouya covered his eyes from the smoke and sulfur. As the wind blew it away, he coughed a bit, trying to focus again. He glanced over at Tamaki.]
The best way to reduce casualities...
If we can cripple them, slow them down... we might be able to outpace them. It's hardly glorious, but it gives us the best chance of staying alive.
no subject
He held on to Kyouya's shoulders with a gentle expression. He noticed Kyouya's reaction to the gunpowder...] You okay?
[He marched forward with his rapier in hand. Gripping the handle as hard as he can. The enemy ship was inching closer to them. It was a matter of time before they can board their ship.]
no subject
Stern chasers! Fire as you bear!
[He can already hear injured members of their own crew. Of people he's going to have to try and stitch up with the outdated medical books he found here and what little he picked up helping his brothers study.
Tamaki doesn't want people to die who don't have to... but Kyouya knows that even the injuries have just begun.
Death will follow.
Kyouya takes a deep breath as he sees planks put across the gap between the ships.]
Try and get to the officers. If the captain surrenders, we can end this quickly.
no subject
He nods at Kyouya's instructions.] I shall make the captain surrender quickly....
[Before he could finish with his bragging, an enemy pirate took them by surprise. He came from the enemy vessel's mast and descended upon them. He quickly pushed Kyouya away and greeted the pirate with his blade.]
Get inside~! [He shouted, feeling like he was some sort of hero.]
no subject
[Which meant a couple of orders shouted to redirect two men to help bring the wounded below deck, Kyouya following with the first patient. He was of no use on deck during the fight, so he'd start doing what he could.
...Now he just had to listen to the sounds above him and hope that everyone -- especially Tamaki -- would be alright.]
no subject
He takes one last glance at Kyouya before he dramatically lunges at his enemy.]
no subject
He's kept his hands clean, washing them between every patient, but the rest of him hasn't been so well taken care of.
He emerges on deck once the state of the area below is under control. Hopefully a healer from another ship will be able to do more than he could. Still, he has a few tools in his pocket as he looks around.
Tamaki wasn't brought below with the wounded, so there must not be too grave an injury, but he still wants to see for himself. Make sure the other isn't wounded or that it isn't too bad if there is something.]
no subject
However, Tamaki was a bit careless. One of the ladies on deck was about to get shot on a vital organ. Tamaki couldn't live with his conscience if he allowed that. So he ran as fast as he could to push the lady out of the way. Unfortunately, it meant a bullet on his shoulder blade.
His bone kept it from sinking in, plus the fact that the gun used was low quality. He really should have worn something more even if it was un-elegant.
When he noticed Kyouya on his way up to the deck, Tamaki immediately hid his back, by leaning on the walls of the Captain's quarters. He tried his best to keep his most charming smile on his face.]
We won~!!
no subject
Congratulations. I don't think we've lost too many, but... we won't know until they recover.
[Even if he was doing what he could to prevent it... infection could still happen, and they didn't have the antibiotics he knew. Or hardly anything, really.]
no subject
[What he'd give for a long and quite bath. A hot spring was always in his inner mind theatre. But right now it was hard to focus on the thought of a warm bath. The wound on his back was throbbing. If only he could reach the bullet and pull it out.]
I hope... [If Kyouya would examine Tamaki's features carefully, he'd notice Tamaki's right eye twitched uncontrollably for a little less than 2 seconds. His right shoulder was really painful right now.]..they'll be okay.
no subject
Tamaki.
[His voice is very quiet, and his eyes focused on Tamaki's. A simple acknowledgement that he knows something is wrong. If you want to make him hunt up what's wrong... Well. He will.
But it will be so much easier for you, Tamaki, if you just submit now.]
no subject
Yes..?
no subject
[They had gotten good at reading each other. Tamaki had always been surprisingly good at seeing what other people would prefer to hide; Kyouya had too. And with a few years' experience now, he could even read the one who'd baffled him when they first met.]
What is it?
no subject
You don't have to worry.. really! [Just blood dropping onto Tamaki's brightly-coloured pair of pants.]
