Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

[wow. Wow! Is she really here? He has to pinch himself to make sure it isn't a dream! But no matter how much he pinches it doesn't hurt.

Oh but he's rubber so it wouldn't. This is lame. How's he going to find out?

After a small bout of startled staring, Luffy is going to reach out and attempt to pinch Nami on the arm]

[Then he switches to pinching her, at which point a lesson on how not to annoy your navigator appears to be in order.]

hahah sorry, sorry. [but he's grinning wider than ever because he's just so glad she is here! He missed her a lot]

Come on! I wanna show you the Merrily!

[and he grabs her hand, intent on racing out of the bar and into the wild blue day]

Wait, what-- just like that?

[No explanation, no nothing!? LUFFY PLS. But she lets herself get dragged because he might at least lead her to someone with more sense. Wait--] What do you mean Merrily? What happened to the Sunny?

[Because we are accurately deducing that that is a ship.]

Yeah but he's in a different world.

[This is too slow and his heart is light and beating too fast]

[he slips an arm around Nami's waist and flings out a hand to catch a chimney edge]

You'll like Merrily! He's great!

[and then up they go! Don't worry, Luffy knows these rooftops pretty well]

[Sense of impending dread at sudden arm, she's been here before--] Luffy, wait--

[APPARENTLY SHE'S GONNA SAY THAT A LOT

oh too late, rocketing up to the rooftops they go. Enjoy your banshee navigator, Luffy. THIS WASN'T CUTE THE FIRST TIME.

[he just laughs cuz Nami shrieking in his ear is really familiar and he's so glad to hear it. He hops onto a house with a long low roof and there is the Merrily sitting in the harbor with its silly pink dragon head that looks like of like Momonosuke]

Are you ready?

[it's going to be a long pull! But you'll be alright. Also it's kind of a rhetorical question because his hand is already flinging out for the mast]

No, I'm not ready. [I'LL NEVER BE READY.] Luffy--

Well, at least the crew of the Merrily will have plenty of advance notice they're coming. Just gonna cling to you for dear life, you big jerk.]

[lands easily on the top of the covered crow's nest and sets Nami down before just laughing]
