♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?
Noatak | Avatar: The Legend of Korra
Noatak rolled off the fountain immediately, his eyes dancing wildly as he clutched at his own body. His mind was a whirling mess of confusion and shock, as one would expect of a man fresh from his own violent demise. All he could recall was a spark, then a moment of what felt like an burning wall slamming into him...then nothing. Yes, that was it. He was dead. Tarrlok had killed them both, and he couldn't even blame him for it. As his mind sorted the information, he managed to calm himself.
"Yet I'm here," he said, rolling onto his back and gazing up at the sky, "Is this the afterlife? It's far from what I expected. I also didn't expect so much foot traffic from locals." He got to his feet slowly, then pushed his way through the onlookers in a hazy search for answers. If this wasn't the afterlife, was he saved by someone? Why did he have no injuries? Where was Tarrlok?
He idly put a hand into his pocket, finding a book.
"And what's this?" he mused, flipping through it. He dropped it with an audible gasp, once he saw pages writing themselves before his eyes, "What kind of insanity is this?! Someone tell me what's going on!"

Demyx | Kingdom Hearts
[Since waking up in this strange place, the very first thing Demyx does is panic. This place is not familiar, and he was asleep. He hadn't been asleep before he arrived so to him it's a huge surprise.
The second thing he does is hold out his hand and open up a dark corridor, or at least attempts to. For some reason, he can't connect to the castle.
This is a disaster. He sighs and flops himself down onto the side of the fountain and summons his sitar. If he's going to think, he needs some music, or more likely, something for his hands to do.]
[B]
[Being lost at sea is only about as fun as it sounds. Demyx comes to half lying on a wooden plank. Did something happen to the ship? Maybe it did. He coughs, clearing his throat as he looks around blearily.
He isn't feeling particularly strong at the moment but using his powers, he pushes through the water, propelling himself to shore. He crawls onto the beach, completely waterlogged.
How pathetic would it have been to die by his own element. He looks around, studying the shoreline.]
Hello? Is anyone out there?

Vanitas | Kingdom Hearts
Anyone one else want to go against me?
Nami | One Piece
She doesn't panic. Not yet. She's not hurt, and there are no marines here, and they're on the coast, right? So stands to reason this is another island and she can work out why she's here by herself later. The locals give her a town name but stare at her blankly when she mentions the Grand Line, which is the first thing that makes her uneasy, and there's no sign of the Sunny down at the harbour. So what gives? And the taverns are just as useful. Nobody's even heard of any of the pirate crews she mentions.
Sooo maybe she's a little jittery by the end of a long day of exploration, and she fetches up in one of the taverns when the sun sets (her bar tab paid for oh so helpfully by the drunken sailor who tried to paw at her half an hour ago, who might be sober enough to miss his wallet in the morning).
So she drinks. And listens. And tries not to freak out. And works out what to do next.]

A tavern is exactly where Zoro wants to be right now, since the ship's supplies of booze are pretty low. All his fault. He doesn't even care which one as he throws open the door and ignores any stares and glares thrown his way.]
Rum. Three bottles.
[He leans right next to Nami and for a moment doesn't even realize it's her.]

[Akira was locked in an argument with some very big men, after he bumpbed their table while a heated card game was going on. It disrupted the whole game, sending cards everywhere. After a statement bout not liking "his kind", one man took a swing at him. Akira parried the blow straight into another man's face, only to get blind-sided by a massive hit from steel mallet that made him crash into the bar right beside Nami. After he pulled his head out of the wood, he noticed her.]

Titus Alexius | Magi
[There's sand in his hair. He's pretty sure there's never been sand in his hair before. It was kind of novel, how the dampness of the ends of his hair held the sand in, but now it's drying and it's getting kind of gritty and unpleasant. He probably should have thought ahead and done something to tie his hair up before making sandcastles on the beach, but he kind of hasn't gotten used to having, well, so much of it. So now he's holding an armful of it and poking through the ends with a despairing expression on his face.]
I'm going to have to wash this...
[He looks out towards the ocean. Maybe in there...? He's going to be stranded here until the rest of the crew can find him. He's going to have to figure out something.]
[B - Treasure]
[Titus has been "digging" on the beach all morning. This mostly consists of using winds spells and a variant of Aladdin's sand giant spell to move sand without getting his hands dirty, but holes are getting made and that's all that counts. Somehow, he's actually managed to unearth a battered old treasure chest. Now he's hunched over it, eyes wide and sparkling.]
A treasure chest! An actual treasure chest! Like in the stories! Look!
B
[He's never gone digging for treasure. Sure, he's seen chests, but now that he's read some pirate stories, this seems all the more amazing.]

You seem a little overdressed for a beach trip.

So not only have you wasted time makin' sandcastles when ya could have been watching the horizon for a ship, but you'er all breaded up n sand like a porkchop?
[And people though he wasted time doing nothing.]

Akira Inugami | Wolf Guy
"Really? Are you kiddin' me? THIS hellhole, again?" Akira griped, wandering the town and pushing his way past on-lookers, "You'd think a guy can just go on with his life without any problems, but no. Davy Jones must have a hard-on for inconveniencing just me."
Granted, it wasn't like he'd made much headway in his world. Still trapped in, still being experimented on. Still getting his escape attempts thwarted by unscrupulous men in suits. Every time he learned a bit more, though.
"Well, at least I can feel the sun on my back," he said, stretching out in the open, "Gettin' locked up underground ain't exactly good for the complexion. I wonder what kinda' people came here with me?"
[At Sea]
"Look, I ain't sayin' that nobody should have the shards, I'm just sayin' that maybe there should be a big vote on it. I mean, we can trust each other, but some of those other crews have some real maniacs on 'em. Maybe we shouldn't go handin' power out willy-nilly, and hopin' for the best."
Akira cast a fishing line into the water, trying to get a few nibbles. Maybe something special for dinner. You tended to get tired of what was in the larder after a while, and the palate needed something new.
"I mean, would you want some of these yahoos makin' important decisions with potentially world-changing power?"
[At Sea]
We talking power on the scale of a technology alien with a science gun or Force Galactic? [Mars had been lucky Barkeep's super cool Troublershooter wife had told him not to cause trouble.] The first type is the robot fists and laser six shooters are for.
