Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

*Selphie appears, just taking a little stroll through town to do a bit of shopping. There was a cake place she was thinking of visiting...when she saw the cat guy picking up a book and looking at it. She tilts her head at him, just looking because he does look very different. Then, deciding that he's a newbie, she skips her way over to him with a bright smile*

*What the heck? Who is this guy? His attitude immediately puts Selphie into pout mode, a hand firmly on her hip*

Well - I WAS smiling at you. But now I've decided I don't wanna smile at you at all. Are you always this rude?

*Oh - okay, and that just got him a big fat frown, and she took a step closer*

Me? I'm a human! What are you supposed to be? Some big furry rat thing?

*Clearly he wasn't a rat, but she was annoyed so...that's what came out*

*Selphie blinked, completely taken aback by everything he was saying, and the way he was talking to her. No one ever spoke to her like that, not even people that didn't like her - not that she could think of many... She swallowed as she stared at him, then took a deep breath and stepped forward again*

You won't last a second round here acting that way! You need to find yourself a crew you know, and if you keep being such a jerk then no one is gonna want you. You'll be left out here alone, getting your fur all matted and stinking of damp!

Because. If you don't then Davey Jones will get you and mess you up. Big time.

Though actually...I'm not sure right now if I even care if he did that to you...

*Selphie looks down at his journal and gives it a kick*

You might want that too. To talk to your 'friends'...

*Selphie just stares at him for a moment, then rolls her eyes*

Then that's a good job. People don't usually want stuck up arrogant jerks as their friends. And the journal is just the way things work round here. You'll have to learn to use it if you wanna go anywhere or do anything useful.

That is exactly what I'm saying. You can talk to it too. So...you're lucky it's not open right now, or everyone could hear you. And believe you me, there are people round here who would kick your ass for talking to me the way that you have!
