high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

"Man, you sure are whiner." Vanitas watched the man from his perch a top a wall. He hated whiners, they reminded him of Ventus. "Do you have to be so loud while you whine?"

"Do you have to be so ugly, and still be in my line of sight? Choose one, or choose the other. Why did you even have to call my attention? Now I have to remember that face all day."

He ain't got time for your sass, Vanny.

"Who the fuck are you?"

Vanitas raises an eyebrow. He doesn't really care about his looks, so he's just amused by the idiot. "Heh, better my face than yours." He leaps down and looks over at the man. "You were whining so loud, I just wanted you to shut up."

He cracks his neck. "Who I am isn't important. So long as you shut up."

"Yeah, there's a problem with that request."

"Oh, am I gonna have to make you shut up?" He held out his hand and summoned his keyblade, Void Gear, into his hand. "Because I have no trouble with that."

"...Pffft. PFFFFFFFFFFFTTT. Kuh-AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

That was it. He fell against the side of a building, laughing as hard as he could. Uncontrollably. After months in a dank science dungeon, being experimented on, the absurdity of it was just too jarring.

"What is...what is even...What is that? Is your weapon a giant, stupid-lookin'...I don't even know what it is! Seriously?"

"Keyblade," Vanitas said grinning. He like to battle, and this moron was brave enough to laugh. "Though it's more like a club." Then he lunged at that the laughing man.

"Ha ha ha, but come on, i-AH!"

Akira leaps up, springing off from the nearby wall and speeding over the other boy's head. He hits the ground and immediately leaps to another roof.

"Whoa, take it easy! What's your friggin' problem?!"

"You insulted my weapon," Vanitas explained blandly, though he still has a bit of a smirk on his face. "To laugh at one of the most powerful weapons in existence means you're strong, right?"

He knows he's stretching, but he really just wants to fight. "Also, I wanted you to stop whining."

"No, it means it's a dumb-lookin' weapon. I don't care if it split a planet in half, that doesn't make it NOT look dumb," he said, crossing his arms, "And I wasn't whinin', I was makin' a reflective assessment of the situation."

Vanitas frowns. He thinks Void Gear is pretty cool looking.

"You were whining. I know whiners, you are one."

"And I know pointlessly flesh pieces of garbage, and you're not only weildin' one, you're wearin' one," he said, sticking his tongue out, "...Wait, where are you even from? Did you just get here, or what?"

Vanitas shrugged, banishing his keyblade, and looked over at the man, "I died."

Honestly, he didn't know how he got here, nor did he really care, but it would be fun to see the reaction that got out of him.

"Well, that happens," he said, crossing his arms and sitting on the edge of the roof, "You ain't the only one."

That wasn't the response he expected. Interesting. He cocked his head. "Really?"

"Plenty of people come here after they die. Davy Jones isn't really all that picky about the circumstance, he just makes it work."

"So, you've been here before?" Vanitas asked, cocking his head. Maybe this moron had some use after all.

"I have," he said, "What's it to you?"

"Information. Who's this Davy Jones?"

"Guy responsible, the head asshole in charge. Brings people here, probably the one who sends 'em back. Takes us without consent and tells us to play pirate. He wants these shards that are all over the seas," he said, "We're basically conscripts for him."

That sounded a lot like Xehanort... Vanitas had no interest in going back, and this Davy Jones sounded too much like his old master to want to work for... but sometimes working for someone more powerful than you paid off.

"I see." Vanitas looked out over the sea. "Maybe this place will be fun after all."
