Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

Navy Ships!

[Finnian wasn't exactly one for thinking about his actions before doing them and he at least knows that if someone attacks you, or anyone he is meant to protect, one would usually attack back. This was no exception. Although maybe it was a little overboard when he starts to watch the ship sink down. Wow, who knew that by throwing a rock it would cause that much damage.]

Hehheh, maybe that was a little too much.

[Well they did fire at him first.]

...you remind me of my grandpa. [and that's really scary]

[But he doesn't want to be scary.]

Eh? [He looks a bit confused for a moment.] How do I?

[..............]

[Wow.]

Did you just do that with a rock?

[wantsarobotgarden]

[He knows he was the one that did it, he can't exactly lie about that now can he?]

Yes, but I didn't mean for it to sink.

[bigbadrose]

No, I'm sure you didn't. I mean... it is just a rock right? An ordinary every day rock?

[wantsarobotgarden]

It was a rock, yes. About... [He moves his hands some distance part. Yeah, it's close to a boulder.] This big.

[bigbadrose]

I'm surprised you could even pick it up!

Much less throw it... [No, but seriously what? What kind of a rock is that?]

I'm sorry, but it's the smallest one I could pick up.

[He looked over and spotting another one in the distance went and picked up...Another big rock, or building rubble that had been left about. He seriously made it look somewhat easy.]

Do you think it's too big?

[booyaka_boom]

Wow...

*Selphie is just staring for a good few moments, and the ship, then him, then burst into applause*

Eh?! [She nearly jumped, turning around. When the heck did she get there, he hadn't a clue to be honest.] Wh-Where did you come from?

[booyaka_boom]

Oops! Sorry! Didn't mean to scare ya! I was just standing over there, watching.

*She points to somewhere vaguely behind them*

Then I saw what happened - and that was scary, but cool!

[That doesn't sound a little creepy at all.]

I don't exactly know why they attacked though, so I feel kind of bad.

*Whoops! Yeah, she can be like that sometimes*

Well, it's probably because they thought you were a big scary pirate!

Bu-But I'm not a big scary pirate! I'm just a gardener.

[Who just sunk their ship. yeah nothing to see here.]

[imashaaaaark]

Ah ha ha ha ha! Not bad, for a little mammal! You've got a good throwin' arm!

[Holy cripes. What the hell was that? Finnian wasn't sure but it made him very nervous. Besides he didn't realized sharks talked.]

I...Uh, thank you. I think.

How'd a little sea squirt like you get that kinda' power?

[He looks down. It was seriously a subject that he never wanted to talk about. It was one that he long wanted to forget. So shaking his head, he smiled the best he could. Trying his best to move off the subject.]

I've always had it. It makes my job easier.

[imashaaaaark]

You some kinda' mercenary?

[... Well... Elizabeth stands in place, bringing her hands to the front of her skirt in a proper and relaxed stance as she observers the Navy ship sinking. Trying to sort out her thoughts in her heard and determine her priorities regarding reactions to the event. It's not a lie to say that she's uncomfortable having to fight against the Navy, but she's not enough of a fool to not understand why it must be so. Still, that didn't mean she enjoyed watching their ship sink while the soldiers jumped to the water in the middle of the sea. Part of her wants to actually sail towards them and get them on board, maybe under the pretext of capturing them and having them as prisoners, anything to get them out of the cold water and safe. But that would be dangerous and no matter how there may not be ill feelings on her part, they are enemies and she knows that there's no possibility to dialogue with them.

Not when they were the ones to start firing at them.

Not when Finnian merely answered those attacks by throwing a rock to them. She had been so sure that the rock would miss by a large margin...

As the ship's tip sinks, she turns towards Ciel's servant. It's probably him what bothers her the most at the moment, memories of a night spent at Ciel's mansion, without him nor Sebastian, coming back to mind. Memories of loud sounds that dragged her out of her slumber and the comforting words of Ciel's oldest servant. Memories of the next day in which something had happened to part of the mansion, though everything was fixed by the end of the day. That was what she heard that night, right? Finnian, and probably the other servants, doing their job just like Ciel does. It hadn't occurred to her that the other servants beyond Sebastian would be part of that side of the world as well.]

Maybe, but they also did wrong by attacking us first.

[Her voice is sweet, polite and warm even as she pushes to the back of her mind any doubt, any disagreement she may feel for what just happened on either part. She offers the gardener a bright and grateful smile.]

[Finnian kept an eye out for another ship nearby. He hadn't been here long enough, but he was already glad he had managed to find someone he knew here. Especially since those navy people aren't that nice. But he knew what he had to do, or at least what he is meant to do should the young master or Sebastian not be around and that was what he was currently doing as he turned around.]

I'm sorry, Lady Elizabeth, I'm try not to do the same thing again. [But he knew full well he might have to if they tried it again. Though he doesn't quite understand why they are attacking.]

Why are they attacking anyway?

[Actually, she's not sure if he should try to not do the same again. It's a difficult situation, she doesn't want to hurt others but there's little room for them to act.]

They are just doing their job, Finnian. Unfortunately, in this place we're no different than common criminals, and they have to arrest us to set an example.

[She knows it well, she understands that it's their job and respects it. But she didn't ask to be in this place either, away from her family and her home, forced to be basically a criminal for sailing without permission.]

I guess they have orders of attacking us on sight.

[wantsarobotgarden]

[He paused, well that he can understand, but he himself had only just arrived, so it's not like he actually did anything till now. Now he can understand if he was arrested.]

I guess they are doing their jobs. [And he just sunk their ship. He slowly realized that well, they are going to be mad.]

Let's keep moving.

[She smiles and nods calmly. Her posture and manners are all calm, very unlike how she feels inside. As much as she tries to rationalize it, to understand it, she doesn't like being chased like a criminal, it hurts her pride, and she feels useless knowing that nothing she says or do could change the situation.]

All right.

[She agrees easily with the other boy, knowing that he's right. Staying in place only asks for more trouble, specially after sinking one of the Navy ships.]

Finnian, even if they are doing their jobs, you know we can't allow them to arrest us, right? No matter what it seems to them, we're not criminals, and we can't waste our time trying to convince them.
