Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

[So hello, Ruby. Welcome aboard our ship. I see you've already met our rubbery captain. Would you like something to drink?

Because you're being served right now.

By a mermaid.

Riding a giant bubble.]

[THERE SURE ARE A LOT OF ANIMAL PEOPLE HERE... is probably one of Ruby's first thoughts.

Sorry, she knows it's rude to stare but does anyway.]

...aaaaaaaah, yeah, yeah, sure!

[Still staring at the bubble.

Before she finally realizes it IS rude, and her eyes dart away sheepishly.]

[Bro at least you're not staring at her tail. Or her chest. Seriously you humans act like you've never seen a mermaid before.

She grins, carefully pouring her a cup.]

Be careful, it's hot!

[SHE HASN'T. I mean, she's seen people with animal parts, that's normal. Just not a mermaid.]

Ah, thanks! You ... wouldn't happen to have any sugar, would you?

...I like a lot of sugar.

[Shocking.]

[What? It's not like she has cat ears. That would be ridiculous.]

Oh, of course! I'll go get some.

[And the bubble just... starts floating away!]

[NO, NO. THAT'S NORMAL.]

Sure, thanks! ...

[Resumes staring at the bubble for several moments until its out of sight. Then she snaps out of it, shakes her head, and momentarily resumes tinkering with her weapon.]

[Don't get too focused on your tinkering, because Keimi floats back into the room moments later with a platter of cream and sugar.]

I've never seen anything like that before. It looks...

[Terrifying? Deadly?]

Heavy.

[She hefts it up and with a casual flick it folds out into a giant scythe easily bigger than Ruby herself.]

I mean... I guess it'd be a problem for some folks, but I've trained for this! Back home I was training to be a Huntress, to fight dangerous monsters and stuff like that, so... eh, it's not so bad.

[She flips it back to the still absurdly sized sniper rifle mode just as casually, the point of a girl her size being able to wield something like that still not seeming the least bit odd to her.]
