Test Drive for December 2013 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for [community profile] high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

See you during the application round!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

[...Also acts like a real pirate, too, which maybe isn't the best. Then again, Rider's about the same, and she's tolerable if you know how to handle her. Hostility isn't the way to go, if this woman is anything like the Servant.]

Now that's not very fair! Poor shopkeeps hardly stand a chance around here.

[ It seemed like Ambrosia's eyes narrowed slightly, but not out of annoyance or anything. She's just sizing the other woman up, maybe seeing just how strong she was at a first glance. ]

Not here, lass, though th' thought has crossed me mind. [ What does one expect? She's new here with very little supplies. ]

Do ye got a name? I mean, if ye prefer lass, then by all means I'll continue callin' ye it.

["Not here," huh? So unless she's merely parroting what Codi just said, this lady also isn't from around here. Possibly. There are other ways to find out.]

[Codi, on the other hand, is the very picture of innocence (apart from the almost smug casualness with which she carries herself). Short, stocky, unassuming in build, the ginger has made a point to dress herself in the local fashions to remain as innocuous as possible. Apart from a bag slung over her shoulder and the head of a crowbar poking out the side, she is not visibly armed.]

I usually go by Codi, but if you're used to your pirate lingo or whatever I won't stop you. [She shrugs, casually dismissive.] So...you're a swashbuckler if I ever saw one. What, spent all your loot at the tavern instead of the tailor's?

[A beat, and her tone becomes more direct.]

Or did you not arrive with a big pile of coin like the rest of us?

[ Her hands slipped out of her pockets before Ambrosia crossed her arms over one another. She knew that doing this meant she was defensive about something, but she also knew how to use it to her advantage.

As far as Ambrosia's overall appearance, she definitely looks grizzly with a few scars on her face and frizzly, dry hair with a wooden heart woven in to it. She also was very tanned and had rather long legs, as well as being very toned. At first, it looked like the only weapons she had was her sabers, but there was a particular reason why she picked this coat to match her blouse, pants, vest and boots. ]

Codi, eh? I'm Captain Ambrosia Gray of th' Bloody Mary. Pleasure's mine. [ She tipped her hat, but didn't move it from her head. The pirate grinned and chuckled, shaking her head. ] I hate t' break it t' ye, but not all pirates drink stupid. Impairs th' brain, ye know, 'n I can't be a competent captain if me brain's addled.

[ She enjoys a few drinks here and there, but her alcohol addiction isn't as bad as it used to be, thankfully. ]

I can't help but notice why ye's interested in me coin. Ye plannin' on robbin' me or somethin'?

Better than the ones I know, then. [She chuckles back, apparently unfazed.] They might be interested in the stuff you have on your person, but honestly there are much easier ways to get a pretty coat than to mug someone for it. You can calm down.

Ye know me brethren? Which ones?

[ Then, Ambrosia will break out in to a loud laughter and shake her head. Oh, this girl was rich. ]

I ain't rattled none. Ye can rest easy, Codi.
maskedtyrant: (Thinking | subtle eyeroll)

[personal profile] maskedtyrant 2013-12-08 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Codi appears to be resting easy. Far too much confidence for a girl so unassuming...]

Ah, well. Just the one that I know personally. Pink-haired, a little too enthusiastic about rum. British, apparently. She calls herself Rider.
outlandished: (✖ hats off to you.)

[personal profile] outlandished 2013-12-08 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ambrosia can appreciate that in a woman, especially in a profession that's dominated by men. ]

Not ringin' any bells, but I dig th' choice of name.
