Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Oh, that's wonderful! I'm sorry that you're away from them here. I have a little sister myself, her name's Anna.

[And it's just them both. No, it's just Anna now. Anna in Arendelle, but she will be okay, Elsa's sure of it. Even if some of her decisions may worry her a bit, she will be a good queen.]

I thought so, from the way it sounded I imagine that the Alliance and the Horde aren't in the best terms with each other.

[He really makes it hard to refuse. And his crew sounds oddly wonderful, even if the skeleton bit is confusing, but she's starting to accept that confusion is a normal mental state with this kid. She's about to insist in her refusal when she realizes something he said and decides to question that more.]

"Magic stuff"? Do you know what kind of magic?

[allendsmeat]

Hmm I dunno. [he's sure Celestia told him some of it but he can't really remember much of it] I think she can do weather stuff and maybe other stuff too. You'll have to ask her.

Ice Castle!

[Gene whistles in amazement as he looks over the crystalline architecture, running his gloved hands over some of the banisters and pillars.]

Man, somebody turn down the AC. On the upside, it blocks the wind chill, and it's a good retreat when all of the tropical islands are a little TOO tropical. It's always nice to have a wintery spot to cool your head in.

[Gene raises his hand in greeting.]

What's up? I guess you're the lady of the house, then?

[Elsa may not be queen anymore, she may never be queen. But she had been educated to be one, to be a good ruler for her kingdom. In a place where all the government fell in the shoulders of the monarch, it would have been Elsa's job to watch over the trade routes with other countries, which ones were safe, which ones were being rentable... It was a business world way above that of store clerks and workers, but it was business all the same. And if there's a language that Scrooge speaks it's that of business, the best profit at the lowest risk, though he also knew when to take high risks if the pay was exponential to it.

Knowing this, it was very easy for Elsa to know what he wanted and what he needed. And the sinister sounding chortle didn't bother her in the slightest, seeing how happy he had been of finding such a huge treasure she can understand well his wish to keep it for himself. And technically it was theirs, the way the maps worked the island was an unknown one except for them. Following the logic of colonization, the island belonged to them and so did the treasure, protecting it from others was the obvious step.]

We could also leave a fake reward at the end of some of those markings, maybe a map with instructions to another place. Something that would make them leave the island before they bothered to explore it throughly, just in case someone would be able to crack our own marks.

[Gene brightened up immediately when a girl grabbed his attention.]

Well, from the local clap-trap, I'd say it's called Empieza. Don't ask me what that means, since I just got here. Kinda' sounds Spanish, but it's not really a language I'm well-versed in.

[Gene's used to plenty of bizarre twists of Fate. Waking up in a foreign land isn't the worst thing that's ever happened to him.]

Though I'll admit, the stars being completely different is pretty troubling. Makes figuring out where this world is a little difficult. Certainly not Earth, that's for sure. I've known that skyline since I was a kid.

[Weather stuff, that sounds... Promising actually.]

Healing stuff?

[She tries, to see if it rings something to him.]

I dunno. [he really doesn't pay attention and they haven't really gotten that hurt lately so...] Why don't you come and ask her? And if it's not what you want you can go. [he nods] But we'll still come and visit you.

[Elsa may not mind isolation, and may prefer it, knowing well that she's a danger to others. But that doesn't mean she wants it, which is why she doesn't bother to try to set up ways to avoid visitors. And why, as soon as she hears the doors at the entrance open, she walks towards there.

She stands at the top of a staircase, observing the man with curiosity and caution. She nods at the question, offering a small smile.]

That's right. My name's Elsa.

May I inquire what brought you here? Visitors aren't something usual.

[There were no other crew members to be seen. She'd have to handle this all on her own.]

[She quietly nodded to the first question, giving up on vocalized communication for another beat. When he finally looked away from her, she was able to look more directly at him. There was no denying that he was handsome, and he certainly had never been at a loss for words. Smiling a bit, she went back to her stargazing, feeling a little more comfortable now that his attention was directed toward the celestial display.]

I think that's very true. [She spoke softly but fondly of the subject] The night sky can mean so many things to so many people. Hopes, dreams, fateful encounters, and the unknown...they're all entangled up there in that endless starscape.

If you look at it long enough- you can't help but feel closer to others. Just think.. how many are gazing up at the sky just as we are now?

[Cough... or was that too silly?]

[That... Makes Elsa smile, sincerely happy again.]

Okay, I can do that. And if not, I wouldn't mind an occasional visit, if you tell me about your adventures.

[It seems like a fair deal. If this Celestia can do healing magic, maybe she could help even if the worst were to happen again. It's a cheap solution, she knows, it's not what her parents wanted... But she had tried, she really tried and failed. It was either this, or be alone forever. She's ready for it, for the isolation and solitude, but it's not what she really wants. She wants to go back, have fun with her powers and play with others, make a snowman even in the middle of July.]

[allendsmeat]

[she should smile more often. It makes Luffy smile too.] Yep! But I hope you can come with us.

[and to that end]

Come on! I'll race you!

[and with that he takes a running leap out the window, holding his hat on as he falls, then slams down to the ground, his rubbery body absorbing the impact. He'll look back up to make sure she comes out before he resumes running, though.]

Well, we're all pretty new to these seas, right? Statistically, it's pretty obvious that you'd eventually get visitors. Though I have to say, it's a shame to have such a nice place, and so little help running it. I haven't seen any servants about.

[letthestormrageon]

[She screams when he jumps, rushing to the window and watching in disbelief as he's... Perfectly all right. If she stays she will have to ask again about what he is.

Elsa still hesitates for another moment, turning to look at her palace before she looks at the running boy. But she can return, if she doesn't see it as a safe idea for them, she won't go. And this is already a winter island so she can't cause much damage if she ends unleashing a snow storm, right?

With a gesture she creates the start of an ice walkway through which she runs, creating more and more of it as she advances and races him. No one said the race had to be on the same ground level, after all.]

[Oh. He wasn't aware he was talking to someone who's literally met everyone, ever.

His apologies, kiddo.

But, no, seriously. Shinjiro is definitely far from exciting in the conversation area. Really.]

Well, you are entitled to your own opinion. Think whatever you like. [Just. Think it over there, or something, okay?]

Wooooaaaah! THAT'S SO COOL! [he'll shout that at her. So awesome So AWESOME! He'll charge even faster, though it's harder when he hits deeper snow and has to plow up the hill but he keeps at least abreast of her if not a little behind. After a while he'll crest another hill and just beyond that is the Million Merrily-gou, sitting in the harbor, its silly pink dragon figurehead glinting in the sunlight.]

That way! Can you go across water?!

Still the world is big, and there are many other islands to visit.

[This is a small winter island, it had only a few animals and plants, not a place people would be tempted to visit. Though the ice palace that shines on it may change that, but Elsa hasn't come to realize that.]

That's because there's no one here except me. I'm sorry to say this, but this island has no other residents or hidden treasures, even the food is too scarce to provide supplies worth of the time spent to gather them.

Abandoned Island

[Okay, Ania's not sure exactly how she wound up on this little rock, but it's certainly not the worse place she could've washed ashore. The whole thing had been a giant pile of scraps and junk, and she'd been lucky enough to make landfall with a ton of provisions from her previous vessel. And finally she's managed to get a small boat together out of the excess junk, cobbled together but serviceable, if not exactly pretty.

And wouldn't you know it, it's now that another ship happens to drift on by.

Naturally, that ship is yours. How do you approach?]

[The shout makes her laugh again, this time loudly and freely, as she always does when she's using her powers willingly, amazing herself with what she can do. Unafraid of them or herself. She feels like a little kid again, before things went wrong.

When she spots the ship, she will look curiously at it, wondering if there's a reason behind such a figurehead. Upon hearing his question she will turn to look at him, still running, a wide smile on her face.]

Sure I can! Want to see it?

[She laughs softly and shakes her head.]

There's enough food for one person, so long as I get it responsibly and don't get greedy. It's different than for a ship and a crew with many days of sailing ahead of them.

[allendsmeat]

YES! GOOOOOOOOOO! [and he'll fist pump the air. Her crossing the sea is so much more cooler than winning anything]

Still, for one person to sequester themselves like this...seems kinda' lonely. How'd you even chisel this whole thing out on your own?

[letthestormrageon]

I didn't chisel it, I created it.

[She makes a gesture and a soft trail of ice comes out of it. At the center of the room below her, a few meters away from the man, the trail lands and seems to gain life of it's own, the ice grows, twisting and changing shape until in a matter of seconds a beautiful fountain of ice is in place, completed with an ice sculpture of running water.]

I have ice magic, to put it simply.
