Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Harmless was always a matter of perspective. He tended to wear obscuring cloaks in public, mainly due to people freaking out when a shark walked amongst them. He had a bad enough reputation with the locals. He turned to look at the much shorter girl.]

Isla Impi...Ampa...You're on an island, okay? That's good enough.

[What...?]

All the animals can talk! Vitaly can talk, Gia can talk, Sonya...

[Wait...Sonya can't talk. Stefano clears his throat.]

Alice can talk, Marty can talk, and Melman and Gloria can talk!

See? All the animals can talk!

[Unfortunately, he is always serious.]

Host Club? [Stare.] The hell is that?

[More importantly, why should he even care? And why is it relevant to the whole 'getting back home' thing that everyone should obviously be focusing super hard on.]

[Elsa doesn't expect visitors, but she won't lock them out. She will just try to convince them to leave. In an ice palace created by herself, for herself, it's easy to know when someone else is there, even if they are entering carefully.

She notices the door opening and moves towards the entrance, observing the visitor from the top of a staircase, warily though more worried about hurting the girl than of the girl posing a threat. Elsa swallows before she tries to talk, her tone gentle and soft.]

Hello... Are you looking for something?

(Either it was good or bad luck for Naesala as one of the ship's mast had a nest made on it. It was a small and not the best looking nest but it is one nonetheless!

Leanne blinks as not only the familiar sight of black feathers but also the scent smells really familair.... Older smelling but still..... Familiar.)

Rest.... As much as you need to. I am sure that my captain wouldn't mind. (She has ways to make say yes oh yes she does. Fufufufufufu)

*Selphie paused in the hallway, almost like she was suddenly frozen, afraid that she'd been caught. But the voice didn't sound angry, and Selphie followed its direction to see the person on the staircase. She relaxes, and waves up at her*

Hi! I'm sorry... I didn't think anyone was around, so I just kinda let myself in so I could take a look.

[Visitors are a strange concept, in a fortress of solitude Elsa doesn't really expect to get any. But her uprising makes it hard to lock them out right away. Better just tell them to leave as soon as possible, before she hurts them accidentally.

She hears the yelling, but not from the entrance but from one of the superior floors. She arrives to the room, in search of the source of the voice, only to find a man... Who apparently had decided to lick one of the walls.]

What... What are you doing? Why did you do that?!

[She approaches, intending to help, but stops when she realizes what she's doing. No, she can't touch him. Not without her gloves and even with them it could be dangerous. But how to help him then? If only she could thaw the ice, but she knows not how. She looks around, trying to figure out a way to help the man.]

Wait, wait a moment, please. I'll think of something.

Not where I'm from they can't. [Good lord of Jack the Monkey could have talked... The thought of that monkey Makes Gibbs shake his head. He'd had enough problems with that beastie without it talking.]

Well, there are some who can talk, but only because they was taught to. Like Cotton's parrot.

Oh, don't worry.

[Elsa waves a hand, dismissively and offers a small, even if nervous and unsure, smile. It makes sense, after all, that people would be curious about the castle, but...]

I didn't expect anyone to visit, there's nothing on this island, no treasure or people... Except me. Did you come here alone?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie takes that as an invitation, so she walks casually further into the castle, looking around here*

This place is awesome! But -

*She stops and tilts her head at her, ignoring her question for now*

You don't live here, do you? Like you said - there's nothing and no one here. That must be pretty lonely.

o-oh hello!!

[His eyes first flick over to the nest - nothing strikes him as too unusual, maybe he could use it - and then his ears catch up with his tired mind and--]

Leanne? [Said incredulously. He still can't see her too well, eyes aren't adjusted yet, but the scent's there...maybe he's hallucinating? One way to find out.] Is that really you? What are -- you're on a beorc ship?

[So long as she doesn't approach the staircase to climb it, Elsa doesn't move. She can't help a proud and satisfied smile at the comment. It felt good, to be told that something she had made with her powers was "awesome", even if the girl doesn't know that.]

Thanks. Yes, this is my home, I made it myself.

[She looks at the handrail, caressing it with her hand gently, a smile still on her lips.]

Lonely suits me well. I belong here. Away from everyone.

Theoretically, it'll be a club where charming, dashing young men - ((here he gestures are himself)) - entertain charming, lovely young ladies. More practically, it's a means of getting money so that we can actually worry about finding these shards or whatever instead of struggling to survive.

Really, you did? That's amazing!

*She takes another moment to have another look around, moving closer to the stair case, but even Selphie knows that going upstairs in a stranger's house is rude*

But why? Won't you just get really bored?

*Though she's inwardly frowning - yet another person who prefers to keep themself to themself*

[Oh look, someone who looks as lost as he feels!
Well, he wouldn't get answers from her either, but perhaps he could commiserate.]

Were it a 'wonderland', I'm sure it would be a much more fanciful place than...this.

[Elsa steps back when the girl approaches the stair case, but that's all. She looks at the girl with a mix of happiness for the compliments and wariness.]

No, not at all.

[Here she can be free. She can be herself to whatever extent she wants.]

I'm dangerous for others. I never learned to properly control my power, if I'm alone I can do whatever I want. Use it without fear and make things like this castle. I can't do that when I'm with other people, I will end just hurting them.

I may be alone, but I'm free. Without posing a danger to others. You should leave too, food is scarce here, so you won't be able to get supplies either.

[Elsa was taking advantage of the night, to be out on the deck, while no one else was. Looking at the horizon, trying to discern anything in the darkness. It wasn't working, of course, but the fresh air of the night and the loneliness of the night felt good.

She definitively wasn't expecting someone to suddenly reach the ship, much less what seems to be a human figure with wings. She looks at the creature with a mix of curiosity and wariness. When she speaks, she tries to keep her tone out of any of those emotions, keeping it polite even if confused.]

I'm sorry, but if you're not here to interrupt, what are you here for?

Well, that just means that what you need to do is learn how to control your power better. I can see why you'd want a big island to do that - no point trying it on a ship. But I can help - I was gonna sign up to be an Instructor, you know!

*Selphie sounds pretty confident that she can help her, and stands to attention*

Meantime, how bout joining a ship but just not using your powers while you're there? We've got plenty food, too. Don't wanna starve here, do ya?

[He couldn't even tell if there was anyone out and about on the ship by the time he landed, but it seems speaking his thoughts out loud worked as a warning nonetheless.

Peering down, he tucks his wings in a bit before replying.] Pardon, it's gotten dark quite earlier than I expected, and your ship was the closest thing I could see. [Doesn't really sound too sorry about it.]

[That's unexpected and actually very unwelcome. Not to mention rude, even if she knows that the girl only means well. Elsa frowns disapprovingly and steps back again, when she speaks her tone is distant, regal.]

Thank you, but that won't be necessary. I know you mean well, and I appreciate it, but I'm afraid that you don't know what you're talking about.

I was born with this power, and I've tried to learn to control it for years, I know that I have failed but I would appreciate if you would avoid talking about it as if it was something I haven't even tried to do. My power isn't something I can activate or not, if I was able to do that, I would be able to control it. I have no intention to leave, I'm fine here, I want to be here.

[He doesn't sound sorry about it, but his words make Elsa understand that it would be pointless to be sorry for something caused by circumstances outside of his control. She certainly can't blame him for it.]

Are you then in need for a place to stay for the night? Is that all?

[He hears:

"Club of a bunch of guys, flirting with girls as means of taking their money."

Nope.]

So, basically, you plan to take money from a bunch of girls, so you don't have to do any actual work?

[He looks pretty unamused by this plan.]

*Selphie doesn't really know where all this has come from. She just wanted to help, the other woman had said that herself. She blinks up at her then stares, the tone reminding her of Rinoa, when she had her little princess fits*

Uh... Okay. Well, guess you don't need me here then. I bet you can suit yourself and do whatever you want.

*Selphie rolls her eyes a little and heads for the door*

But a big castle like this is bound to attract attention. I just hope you can control your powers if you attract the wrong kind.

[The nearby figure really should have been familiar as well.]

This island is called Isla Empieza. A little lacking in the creativity department, don't you think?

[That...was not expected. Yelled at, maybe; chased off, sure, but not offered a place to stay? By a human? Sounds fishy. Suspiciously: ]

Mm. That may not be a good idea. Perhaps it's best if I'm on my way sooner rather than...later... [Last bit trails off as he looks over the ocean again and wow there is nothing out there. Good plan!!]
