♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

*Selphie takes that as an invitation, so she walks casually further into the castle, looking around here*

This place is awesome! But -

*She stops and tilts her head at her, ignoring her question for now*

You don't live here, do you? Like you said - there's nothing and no one here. That must be pretty lonely.

[So long as she doesn't approach the staircase to climb it, Elsa doesn't move. She can't help a proud and satisfied smile at the comment. It felt good, to be told that something she had made with her powers was "awesome", even if the girl doesn't know that.]

Thanks. Yes, this is my home, I made it myself.

[She looks at the handrail, caressing it with her hand gently, a smile still on her lips.]

Lonely suits me well. I belong here. Away from everyone.

Really, you did? That's amazing!

*She takes another moment to have another look around, moving closer to the stair case, but even Selphie knows that going upstairs in a stranger's house is rude*

But why? Won't you just get really bored?

*Though she's inwardly frowning - yet another person who prefers to keep themself to themself*

[Elsa steps back when the girl approaches the stair case, but that's all. She looks at the girl with a mix of happiness for the compliments and wariness.]

No, not at all.

[Here she can be free. She can be herself to whatever extent she wants.]

I'm dangerous for others. I never learned to properly control my power, if I'm alone I can do whatever I want. Use it without fear and make things like this castle. I can't do that when I'm with other people, I will end just hurting them.

I may be alone, but I'm free. Without posing a danger to others. You should leave too, food is scarce here, so you won't be able to get supplies either.

Well, that just means that what you need to do is learn how to control your power better. I can see why you'd want a big island to do that - no point trying it on a ship. But I can help - I was gonna sign up to be an Instructor, you know!

*Selphie sounds pretty confident that she can help her, and stands to attention*

Meantime, how bout joining a ship but just not using your powers while you're there? We've got plenty food, too. Don't wanna starve here, do ya?

[That's unexpected and actually very unwelcome. Not to mention rude, even if she knows that the girl only means well. Elsa frowns disapprovingly and steps back again, when she speaks her tone is distant, regal.]

Thank you, but that won't be necessary. I know you mean well, and I appreciate it, but I'm afraid that you don't know what you're talking about.

I was born with this power, and I've tried to learn to control it for years, I know that I have failed but I would appreciate if you would avoid talking about it as if it was something I haven't even tried to do. My power isn't something I can activate or not, if I was able to do that, I would be able to control it. I have no intention to leave, I'm fine here, I want to be here.

*Selphie doesn't really know where all this has come from. She just wanted to help, the other woman had said that herself. She blinks up at her then stares, the tone reminding her of Rinoa, when she had her little princess fits*

Uh... Okay. Well, guess you don't need me here then. I bet you can suit yourself and do whatever you want.

*Selphie rolls her eyes a little and heads for the door*

But a big castle like this is bound to attract attention. I just hope you can control your powers if you attract the wrong kind.

[Part of Elsa regrets it, she doesn't like to shut people out, but it's the best for them. And the girl had been rude in the way she talked. Not that it matters, even if all she's queen of is of a kingdom of isolation, Elsa doesn't back down on her words and merely looks at the girl as she heads for the door.]

If by that you mean people who would threat me, fear not. My powers are made to hurt others, I will be able to protect myself and keep them away.

[There's a pause before she offers a very small smile, even if it may be unseen by the other.]

Thank you for your visit. I wish you a safe travel and a safe return to your world if you are one of the people brought here for the gem.

Alright. I believe you but... There a lot of people with real strong fire power round here.

*Her voice is softer, because if ice is her element then she could be in big trouble, and that wasn't fair no matter who this woman is. Not that any of the fire powered people she knew would just come along and melt the place*

But thanks... And good luck to you too.

[Wait, what? Elsa moves forward to the edge of the stairs, raising a hand.]

Wait!! Please!

[The doors slam close in front of Selphie, blocking her exit and Elsa cringes at that.]

Sorry, I didn't mean to... But please, just lend me a bit more of your time. What do you mean by "people with fire power"?

[To be taken to another world is strange, magical, but she had yet to see any of that magic in anyone but her.]

*Selphie stops when the doors slam in front of her face. That was really rude. She spins round with a frown, but it turns into concern rather than anger at the other girl's question*

Fire magic. And some seriously strong fire. I'd show you but..uh - I'm a little scared I'd melt your house.

[Elsa stares for a moment, shock clear in her face as if what the other says is difficult to understand.]

Fire magic?

[She repeats the words as if they were a different language than hers. For a moment Elsa looks lost, confused but not scared.]

You mean you can use fire magic? Please, show me!

Uh huh... Haven't you ever heard of that before?

*She gestures towards the door*

Can I show you out there? It might be a little too dangerous in here!

N-no... I have never seen anyone use any kind of magic, anyone but the trolls and myself.

[She climbs down the stairs a bit but stops at the middle.]

No, please. I want to see if you can melt my ice. I beg you.

Okay... But if I break something, then I'm sorry!

*So she steps away from the walls, just in case, and aims for something that won't set the whole castle crumbling. Probably, it's easier if she goes for a small fire spell, rather than something bigger, and she aims it away from both of them. It should be enough to break something, and it would melt ordinary ice*

[Elsa watches the other girl closely from her spot, her full attention on her movements. She gasps when the flame appears and is shot, it hits a wall and a cloud of steam surges from it, the ice melting slightly, but remaining mostly intact.

It's something, but it's insufficient, in her opinion. When she asks her tone is polite, but there's a certain urgency and need in her voice. Hope that the answer is a negative one.]

Is that all you can do?

*Selphie watches, wondering herself what her own magic will do against this different kind of ice. But it works, if barely. She raises a brow at the question, though, and shakes her head*

Nu uh! Watch this!

*This time, she pulls a fira spell, more than twice as powerful as the last one, and she lets it go with much more enthusiasm than last time*

[The Snow Queen gasps as the girl makes a much bigger flame this time, the fire attacking the ice viciously and creating an even bigger spiral of steam. Even when the steam cleans the ice is still visibly melting, giving up against the heat and creating a hole in the wall.

Elsa can barely belief it.]

It... Melted. The fire melted my ice... You can melt my ice!

[She brings a hand to her mouth which refuses to close due shock and disbelief, her knees seem to give up, and she slowly lowers herself to sit on the ice stairs. Her eyes don't move away from the melting ice even for a second as tears begin to crowd on them.

Her ice, the ice no one could control or do anything about... It's melting, melting as if nothing. By a girl who can use fire magic as if it was nothing. Like Elsa did with her ice. She had never even dreamed of such a thing being possible.]

*Selphie panics when she reacts like that, thinking that it's because of the damage she made, so she rushes over,looking alarmed and concerned*

I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I told you that might happen! I'm sorry! I can help you fix it!

[Elsa shakes her head as she hears the other apologize, tears running down her cheeks as she keeps staring at the damage. She doesn't notice the girl coming closer until she's almost besides her, and she stands up climbing up the stairs difficulty, as fast as possible to put distance between them, raising a hand for good measure to signal for the other to keep the distance.]

No! No, you don't have to apologize. You don't understand, it's... It's the first time. I never thought there could be anyone with enough power to melt my ice, to stop it. Or that there could be anyone with a power similar to mine.

*Selphie stares up at her, feeling pretty useless as she watches her cry. And as she hurries away, that means that a friendly hug is clearly out of the question. She speaks up eventually, delivering the truth in a gentle, understanding voice*

There are many magic users in this world, and some of us can manage much more powerful than that. There's all sorts of magic here. We learned from each other, and look after each other. So... you're not alone here. You don't have to be.

[Many magic users? There are more? And people who can manage even more than that? That's... She would have never imagined that such a thing could be possible. Not even after being ripped away from her world by a strange magic.]

Then... When you said you could help, you meant that you learned to control your own powers as well? Were you born with them too?

[She had thought that the girl meant something like what her father had tried to do, something that hadn't worked. That, coupled with the way it had been worded, quite rudely, had made Elsa assume that it would be useless.]

Hmm... Not really. I learned and trained with how to use mine, but I did stumble across more power than I could handle when I was too young - that wasn't a good idea. So... in a way, I guess I kinda know where you're coming from.

*She's struggling to keep a distance when the girl seems so confused, but she doesn't seem to like contact, so she just wavers on the bottom of the stairs*

There are others here, though, born with stuff that they've had to learn to deal with. Maybe you'd be better talking to them, see how they've managed it.

[Elsa hugs herself, looking at the damaged ice before finally looking at the girl again. A small, but still unsure smile comes to her lips.]

*Selphie offers the kindest smile she can manage and bows her head in greeting*
