Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Many magic users? There are more? And people who can manage even more than that? That's... She would have never imagined that such a thing could be possible. Not even after being ripped away from her world by a strange magic.]

Then... When you said you could help, you meant that you learned to control your own powers as well? Were you born with them too?

[She had thought that the girl meant something like what her father had tried to do, something that hadn't worked. That, coupled with the way it had been worded, quite rudely, had made Elsa assume that it would be useless.]

[booyaka_boom]

Hmm... Not really. I learned and trained with how to use mine, but I did stumble across more power than I could handle when I was too young - that wasn't a good idea. So... in a way, I guess I kinda know where you're coming from.

*She's struggling to keep a distance when the girl seems so confused, but she doesn't seem to like contact, so she just wavers on the bottom of the stairs*

There are others here, though, born with stuff that they've had to learn to deal with. Maybe you'd be better talking to them, see how they've managed it.

[Elsa hugs herself, looking at the damaged ice before finally looking at the girl again. A small, but still unsure smile comes to her lips.]

What is your name?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie offers the kindest smile she can manage and bows her head in greeting*

Selphie, Selphie Tilmitt. Yours?

[letthestormrageon]

Elsa.

[There's a brief pause before she shakes her head.]

Just Elsa. It's nice to meet you, Selphie. The people you mentioned... Those who were born with powers as well, are they with you?

[booyaka_boom]

Nice to meet you too, Elsa!

*She's a little surprised that there's not a 'princess' or something that comes along with that. But she smiles and nods her head*

Uh huh. There's all sorts in our crew! Some with powers from birth, some with things discovered by accident, and yeah.. I think maybe you guys could help each other out. We're all real friendly, too!

*Well...most of the time*

[There used to be. Queen of Arendelle, but she's no queen anymore, neither is she in Arendelle. Nor will she ever return there.]

If they are half the way you are I can believe such a claim. What kind of powers do they have?

[booyaka_boom]

Well.. we got people who can use different kinds of weapons, and magic, there's a vampire, a coupla phoenixes, and even a shark man!

*She smiles broadly and laughs, like she's just realised how crazy their crew must sound*

[Rather than crazy they sound strange to Elsa.]

I'm sorry, I have never heard about vampires or phoenixes. What kind of creatures are they?

[She can, somehow imagine how a shark man would look though.],

[booyaka_boom]

*She smiles a little and sighs - but in an amused way. She leans against a bar on the staircase and begins her explanation*

Vampires are... undead. They live forever, and can be pretty strong and do mind tricks, but they gotta drink blood to survive. Phoenixes, they're like... fire birds, humans that can transform, and they can come back alive when they die.

*Selphie scratches the back of her neck*

Well, that's the basics... Kinda.

[letthestormrageon]

That's... A really varied crew.

[Strange but not in a bad way, more like a curious way. Specially the phoenixes.]

Are the phoenixes really made of fire?

[booyaka_boom]

Yeah we are! But we have fun and we always help each other out, so it works.

*Selphie thinks about this for a moment*

Uhm... I don't think so. At least, not when they're in human form.

[letthestormrageon]

And when they are in bird form?

[She seems to have calmed down again, but remains sitting looking at Selphie with warm curiosity.]

[booyaka_boom]

I dunno if there's a rule for that. Or maybe each phoenix in each world is different. One of them, he's like a huge bird made of flames! The other though, he turns into a blue bird, who is also very cuddly. So maybe it depends.

[letthestormrageon]

Blue? I've never seen blue fire.

[She sounds amused.]

You care for them a lot, don't you?

[booyaka_boom]

Uh huh! And the thing is that it doesn't hurt. In fact, it kinda tickles!

*She smiles brightly at that and nods*

Yeah. My crew are really good to me, and we have a lot of fun.

[letthestormrageon]

What kind of things do you do?

[Elsa can't help to be curious, she didn't pay much attention to the people in the ship she was in before she arrived to the island.]

[booyaka_boom]

I use all kinds of elemental magic, and healing. I fight with nunchaku, and I also play guitar.

*She laughs a little at that*

That's pretty much what I do.

[letthestormrageon]

All kinds? So you can use ice as well?

[Her eyes seem to shine more brightly at the mention of healing magic.]

What kind of healing?

[booyaka_boom]

Uh huh, I can! But I definitely can't use it in the same way you are.

*She smiles at that*

The healing kind of healing? Protection spells too.

[letthestormrageon]

[There's a soft laugh at her words.]

Can you heal a frozen person?

[booyaka_boom]

*She raises a brow*

You mean like a snowman?

[letthestormrageon]

No, I mean someone who was hit with ice magic and who started to freeze from the inside.

[booyaka_boom]

Hmm... I dunno. I mean, I've never tried. Is there someone hurt? I can try to help them!

[letthestormrageon]

No... No there's no one hurt but...

[She pauses and takes a deep breath.]

A long time ago I hurt someone that way. Had it not been for a troll's magic... It would have been fatal.
