Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

A: Be a Hostage.

[Finally you're off your ship. After finding an island, the feel of it beneath your feet is solid and sorely missed, you decide to check it out and leave your crew behind for a little adventure of your own.

But was the feel of a gun against your back missed? Probably not, but it's there. Someone is speaking in a low tone right behind you, the one holding the weapon.]

Don't move.

Now... we can do this the easy way or the very easy way. What'll it be?

B: The Omegans.

[Aria sticks out like a purple alien lady. Which is exactly what she is. You might have already noticed her or she's noticed you. She's been on the prowl for lackeys a crew and after keeping tabs on her journal and doing some old-fashioned scouting she's decided it's time to put who she considers the best, together. And put them on her ship.

That means you.]

You. I need to talk to you.

[Cody looks around for a moment, he's not really used to be people coming to him for things. Maybe that lady was right. Taking off the wrists shackles certainly made him look more approachable.

He lets loose with a loud, wide yawn.]

Eh? You need something?

[Oh, she's just made of sunshine, this one. He takes a sip of his beer before addressing her again. He's just going to put the whole "purple" thing aside for now.]

...You got food and alcohol? Do I get to hit a lot of people?

All the people you like. [Hell, you can fight your other crewmates she doesn't care. Just don't kill them. Only she gets to do that.]

There's no Noverian Rum but there will be whatever this place calls alcohol. And food... as long as you don't eat it all. I only ask that you do what I say, when I say it. Then we'll get along fine.

Yeah, see, there's the thing. Sure, the whole "pirate" deal sounds fun and all, but pirates hurt people that haven't done anything. I'm not puttin' a hurtin' on anyone who doesn't make the fight worth it, or isn't tryin' to hurt me.

[Cody tosses his bottle away before cracking his neck and back a few times. He lifts the front of his shirt out and takes a few sniffs.]

Hm. Guess I'd better find better clothes if I'm representin' someone. This prison jumpsuit has seen better days.

[Oh, great. Kurumi isn't having the greatest day already and now this... Suffice to say, she is not happy right now.

Rather than get scared, she just gets mad. She's not turning around, as she's not feeling quite that brave right now. But she's not about to come quietly.]

What's the big idea here? Do you have any idea who you're talking to? Geez!

[But she is just a kid, a kid wandering around on an island all by herself. The gun doesn't budge, the press of it a grim reminder.]

I have a gun against your back so I'd drop the attitude. You cooperate and we won't have problems.

I don't cooperate with people who are so cowardly that they need hostages! Unlike you, I have some standards.

How about you get that gun away before I have to teach you a lesson, huh?

[Because this unarmed teenage girl looks very dangerous, obviously.]

[Well, that's just fanfuckingtastic. Shepard is always keeping an eye out, but maybe he does let his guard down a tiny bit when he's on this island because most of the dumbasses here couldn't threaten a fly, but he's obviously ran into someone who can manage a rational thought from time to time.

He's as confident of his close-quarters skills just as much as he is with his lethal aim from miles away. With the black ops training he's had, there's really no worry whatsoever of whether he can twist around and disable his foe without getting shot.

But he does pause because that voice is very familiar.

His hands slowly slide up at his sides, holding in the air so she can see he's empty-handed.]

Doing your own dirty work nowadays, Aria?

The barrel of the gun presses deeper against his back before it eases away.

She would make more progress working together with him than stealing anything, even she knew that. The gun is holstered, tucked away safely.]

I almost didn't recognize you, Shepard. [She gives him time to turn and face her and her arms are crossed and she's suspicious.]

What are you doing here?

[Face her he does, his own arms crossing since everything with Aria is a powerplay and he does what he can to show her that he's not intimidated even if she had a gun to his back to start this little meeting.]

Getting mugged, I thought.

Knowledge is much more valuable. Although, you are probably worth a pretty credit.

I want to know where I can find that ruby or whatever the hell it is that takes us home.

[He shifts his weight to his other leg before glancing off to the side as if considering her request for a few moments. Then he turns back to her and shrugs.]

If I knew that, I'd have been out of this dump forever ago.

[Funny. Shepard had every reason to stay on this dumpy world. He got a vacation from fighting the Reapers. If she wasn't so goddamn attached to her station, she might have thought of it that way too.

But she hates it here and she didn't fight through Hell and back for nothing.

There's just silent agreement from her.]

You're probably too comfortable with your own crew to consider joining mine again.

Comfort doesn't have anything to do with it. We've been through a lot together. Why don't you join us instead?

[She actually thinks about being a part of his crew because it's Shepard but she doesn't look happy. Not gonna happen.

The objections of the company he keeps hasn't changed because he hasn't changed his company.]
