Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

H-Homura-chan, stop! [ Yeah Madoka is pretty sure she can't do that here, but still. ]

Let me explain, first...!

[She's very impressed, and has a complete lack of knowledge about fish! She points to the next one quickly.]

How about the one with the green beard thingie?!

[Oh hell, if he still had any doubts about her identity before, they are right out of the window the moment he hears her calling out - faint as it may be over the distance. As often as he might wonder just what is going on in that woman's mind... nope, he doesn't get her at all.

Still, she is Fairy Tail, a friend and a comrade - no matter how annoying at times - and there is really no way that he'd ever leave her stranded (even if he is very sure that he may come to regret this). It takes a bit of time to have the ship anchored, to rope down one of the life boats and row over to the island, but yeah he does take it on himself to collect her.]

[Jerks his tie loose and grins a very unfriendly grin.]

[And he's just gonna go kick that poor dude in the face now!]

[ Homura grips the edge of her shield for a few seconds, her knuckles turning white- and then she lets go. ]

O-Okay...

[ The last few times Homura broke down in front of her friend, she ended up running away- so she squeezes her eyes shut, driving back the tears before nodding, her voice under control. ]

... okay. What... what happened? Why...

That's—uh.

[Scratches his head.]

Not a fish we have where I'm from.

[Which just means he wants to buy it and experiment now. Yeah, add that one to his grocery list.]

Then you should buy it and make something YUMMY with it! So you can share with your new pony friend! [Nudges his leg. The hint is not so subtle.]

[Well damn. He was impressed. Thatch was only a small time cook and only when it suited him, but this guy was a chef. Moreover a chef with expensive tastes. Even if he was wound tighter than piano wire.

He chuckled]

You really want this fish, don't you? What for? Friends? Family? [he raised his eyebrows] A lovely lady?

..I haven't really thought about it.

[ She has plenty to think on usually, like not being eaten, or doing work for her Mistress. ]

[ Reisen stiffens at surprise of her Mistress responding to her complaint. Which almost makes her drop one of the boxes stacked on other boxes, forcing Reisen to rush forward to catch it.

[ This is it. This is how she's going to die. Like a pack mule. Better shoot her now so she doesn't have to suffer any more. ]

Well, that's honestly more than I expected. Demacians always seem so rigid and tense. The stiffest shoulders in the entirety of Valoran, honestly.

[Pops had been dying for a long time now. Drinking his liver into oblivion, collecting nurses only to refuse to listen to their advice. And then just before the battle, he ripped out all the IVs and tubes. Not that Crocodile would know that. He hadn't even realized that Whitebeard's reflexes were slowed down, even when he yelled at the old man for it.]

[Marco grins in spite of himself. Even in the most morbid, worst of contexts, thinking about his father and the success of his father's goals cheered him up.]

Still just a kid of a rookie, eh?

Does your own ego matter so little to you? Do you really think we would let the marines or that bastard choose such important things?

Pops died taking and making a stand. Teach no more killed him than a nameless marine did. The one thing we didn't count on was Marshall taking his fruit. On that we missed a step.

Blackbeard is strong, aye, but he's mostly just a cunning fuck. That's not enough to kill my father, and it won't be enough to let him become Pirate King. Because we'll be there to stop him.

Baby banadiles should swim wider waters before trying to eat seakings alone, eh?

[Slings an arm around Thatch's shoulders and tugs him in close before nudging his goateed chin with a fist.]

Like I'd even let you leave me that early.

Nah, I've just spent a few months apart from you, eh?

[ Using her nail to mark her place on the map, she turns to look at Porrim over her shoulder. If she had any problem with her closeness, she didn't acknowledge it. With a warm smile, she pushed her glasses up with her free hand. ]

Not exactly-- Or not yet, I should say. Before I fully consider setting sail, I wish to know more about Empieza and the lands surrounding it. It would be foolish to set off without knowing what's out there, even it might take away the element of surprise and adventure.

[howtempting]

How about we take a little break, then? One of the crewmen was nice enough to give me some rum.

We can have a little chat on your well made bed.

[He...was just going to choose to believe that. He grins]

Glad to hear it. Poor little turkey. [more hair ruffles. Oh hey. Tavern not too far away.] Want to play pirate and talking bird?

I'm fine with a break. I've finished everything I had to do for now.

I won't be drinking any alcohol, but you're welcome to.

What do wish to know specifically, if I may ask.

[For a moment, the lady simply glances aside as the voice. Then she returns to her drink, answer mild.]

It isn't.

Oh, no, they do. But I may be just a bit too young for it!

But in this case, we aren't just searching some haystack for a needle. We know where some needles have been found already, and adding in where we think some other needles may have come from based on what islands are in... the haystack...

[Karen clears her throat.]

Anyway, there seems to be enough of a pattern that I've been able to predict a few locations. We're expecting to find an island in this general area.
