Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Leo had been wandering around for a while, trying to find his friends, and he'd figured out that there were apparently a bunch of islands. No one he knew had turned up after three hours of looking, so Leo decided that it was time to take matters into his own hands. As much as he would have liked to get a big ship, he needed to find people.

Which is how he ended up buying a ten-foot long dingy, which he got help with dragging to the docks, and now he's going back and forth between it and various shops and wherever he can pilfer bits of boat to attach a seven foot tall mast. At least with the toolbelt he had, he didn't have to worry about tools! He wasn't sure why it was working, but it was. Go him!

Eventually he would try to find some food and water, but for now, ship-building time.

Define many examples. The ones he's killed? Or the ones he's left in the dust while captain of the Pearl? But it's not so much that as...Well. The weird and strange are certainly no strangers to the likes of Hector Barbossa.

And giving the odd one a long, hard look, he only snorts. "Aye, I imagine ye do."

[It doesn't bother her. She hardly sleeps.]

[ Calm down she says. Reisen's fear of being eaten by a predator isn't that easy to dismiss!

But she does sigh, moving to the railing, wondering if she might be sick.. ]

That's not helping, Kagerou-san..

Tsk. It doesn't excuse it.

Izanami can get rough with her crew because Kurt can just bring them back to life!

[Indeed. After all, Kurt outright told her about his need for a bit more food than humans, so it would be kind of silly for him to go behind her back and steal some.

At that, though, he frowns some, ears twitching in thought.]

How clean of a theft is it? It's possible that it's a stowaway rather than one of the crew.

[He knows his captain, so he's sure she wouldn't bring it up if it was rats... not to mention, he would've smelled rats if they were here.]

I didn't drop it. You were trying to steal it. [grumble.] I won't forgive anyone who takes it.

[Crap, it was the Terminator. Ace knew one day he was going to have to answer for his over-abundance of clothes.

He nodded and smiled, reached up to fix his hat after tossing the emptied mug he carried off to the side. The gross mixture of liquor and food had been hastily, though painfully swallowed as Ace began beating on his chest.]

See, that's gonna definitely be a problem. I don't have any money on me.

Ah, yes. Of course. I'll be sure to add that to the list of things that make you antsy.

[Excuse her for not being in a rush to leave, considering they're still being tossed around like a salad.]

[The whole reason Kurt tends to approach things in worgen form lately is because the last few "shipwrecked" tried to mug him and take his ship. As funny as it is to see the terror on their face when he changes, he's gotten a bit tired of it.

As it is, he raises an eyebrow at Jack, making a thoughtful noise. Some of the crew on the rowboat are snickering.]

I see. Well, then, being such a fine person, I'd say you deserve a free meal. Why don't you come with us?

[Now there's a hilarious idea. And terribly bad luck, to name a ship like that, but he bites his tongue. After all, moving along to get along, and all that rot, even if this isn't the Brethren of the Coast.]

Nay, never me. And I'd be embarrassed to think it were so.

I suppose not, but when all one has is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

[Foiled again! He'll just have to shred all your clothes or something.]

[whipped!] But I need to come with you. [a pause and then] I can give you something cool.

[Yes, she was well aware of what the dietary requirements were of the crew. She made sure to plan accordingly.]

Not so clean; it's clearly one of the crew, as there are plenty of crumbs left over.

Locke Cole | Final Fantasy VI

[Option 1 - On the ship]

[It's a know fact that Locke doesn't do good at sea. He's the type of person that gets seasick easily and well...in his current situation he has to ask himself over and over again why he chose to go along on this particular expedtion.

Oh. He knows why now. Treasure.

He's left leaning against the edge of the ship with his head hung over the side, trying to keep himself from tipping over. Gods help him]

[Option 2 - Stealing Treasure hunting!]

[Looking for buried treasure is one of Locke's favorite things to do. So like any other good tresure hunter (not thief!) he's digging for treasure right where there use to be an X. He eventually makes progress to where he stumbles across a large chest and hauls it out of the ground.

With a grin, he jimmies it open]

Let's see what we go here...

[Thankfully Estelle is used to Agria's unhinged methods and jumps to the side seconds before that fire arte rockets past her.] You should really be more careful.

[But of course all of that chiding went in one ear and out the other, considering how many times they've done this dance before.]

[It beats having to fight off zombies, in Grell's opinion. With a grunt, Grell keeps the wheel from turning with the current. The rain in the strong winds were getting in the way of seeing, but she couldn't take off her glasses. She was blind without them!]

It's a long list, I assume? [Smirking]

Well that be a point we can agree on.

However, you'll find some don't take kindly to having themselves dragged back screaming into this life. Consider it...A piece of friendly advice.

[Fighting wasn't exactly Kaito's area of expertise. . . and yet despite that, he certainly wasn't a stranger to injury. He had sustained his fair share of gunshot wound grazes before (a risk that came with phantom thief territory), so really, he didn't think the gash he had sustained on his upper arm was that bad]

[With a grumpy sigh, he forced himself to stop fidgeting]

Oh c'mon, it's just a scratch. S'not that bad!

He nods. He doesn't really get that at all. He'd rather be with people than be lonely but--maybe she just wants to find all sorts of different people that she can make...pack?

"Good luck! And if you ever wanna have a party, come find me!" Because he likes her and it will be fun to party together and show her his crew.
