Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[ Zeref hesitated. Right... right. Her plans. The Fairy Tactician. Her ability to predict others' actions literally down to the second in which they happened was well-known by many, Zeref included. Of course, outside interference still occasionally threw her calculations off... which means if he were to prematurely wipe this ship clean of life... ]

[ The black energy swirling around Zeref began to ebb a bit, but his outline was still glowing. Whatever she was planning, it had better work. Zeref may not like fighting, but if it was in defense of those he cared about, he would do it without a second thought. ]

No, I mean to row in. [he nods] I had a rowboat but it sunk and barrels are easier to get.

Swaying slightly, he seems utterly shocked and oh so very surprised to see Barbossa just a few feet way. Or it looks like it's a few feet - his eyes might be playing tricks on him, though. ]</sub>

[ ... by this point, it probably goes without saying that Tednug is really happy that she's on HIS side. That doesn't stop him from being absolutely terrified, and he's about as far away from her as he can get while actually remaining on the enemy ship's deck. ]

Who said it being a trump card? In this sort of situation, elevating yourself early sounds smart. Although, it is too early to be sure.

Ah, it means nothing! It's an absolute garbage skill that only slightly places me above the untalented, ha ha! No one would pick unyielding luck if they had to.

What kind of magic? [finds a crate with a length of suspicious looking sausages and starts eating them] Are you a magician?

[On the one hand, as a pirate, medical services are invaluable. And god knows, Marco wouldn't trade the Whitebeard nurses for almost anything.]

[On the other hand, he's also smart enough to know that other pirates view medical services much as he does; as priceless treasure.]

Ahh, unless there's a SHSL here, I'm not sure it'll happen.

I had a rowboat but it broke. So I need a barrel. And a better paddle. [he looks down in the barrel and pulls up the last scrap of dried meat.] I think this one needs to be filled again though. [and he pops the meat into his mouth]

[ Tednug totally helped with the digging, and with the hauling, and (before that) with the whole "making sure they all got there in one piece" thing. ]

[ But the moment Locke starts prying open the chest, the orc is halfway across the clearing and hiding behind a tree in no time flat, peering out at the treasure hunter. (His pet lion, meanwhile, is sniffing at the chest and pawing at it with no small amount of interest, not even noticing his master's disappearance). ]

_{[ He has no idea what he's saying, now. This voyage has turned out to be quite the surprise. When his newfound friend sits himself down upon his raft, Jack pulls his legs aside and sits himself up (and his other self follows his actions, leaning in conspiratorially to whisper something that sounds suspiciously like 'hide the rum' - which Jack then idly picks up, trying to look as nonchalant as possible). ]}

Okay! [he hops on Chief Derpycorn!] Lead the way! [and he starts to go off at a pretty fast pace]

Of course, it could be a lot better. No sense in being complacent over it-- this is a difficult situation no matter what.

[The Kid grunts wordlessly and turns back to the mast. He wasn't much of a leader, but he was a doer, so as long as those were his orders. He strapped the hammer to his back, and started climbing the mast.]

[Kurt holds up his hand, flexing the claws to show they're as sharp as they look.]

Only myself and a small part of my crew actually know how to mix herbs, or use medicine; of them all, I'm the only one who possesses healing magic, at least to a severe degree. The rest are all of those who've befriended us for whatever reason -- most of them were saved by us, others just wanted to sign on for the pay and stayed for the care. For the ones who can't fight, the rest of us protect them. For the ones who can fight, the ones who can't heal them.

That's how things are for us.
