Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[The insult of sorts is taken in his stride. Of course she's right, objectively, but Izaya refuses to be afraid. Besides, a little gentle teasing is often the best precursor to lending a supportive ear.]

I see... Had a few too many bad experiences on other islands?

Other planets, actually.

[And she'd be happy to point out that she's not scared, thank you very much. Just- okay, maybe a little paranoid. Just a little. Getting yanked between worlds didn't sit well with her.]

Planets! You sure are a traveler.

[But that's hardly the most interesting thing about what she said. Granted, her world may not be the same as his, but it's as well to learn what he can.]

I take it extraterrestrial life is more than a myth, then?

Just part of the job.

[But she does smile. It's one of the best parts of the job, after all.]

Yeah, we've got our share of aliens. And they get a lot weirder than "little green men."

[Though salarians are awfully similar to greys, if you put them side by side. Go figure, right?]

You must have a very interesting job, then.

[Not that he's fishing for information at all. Heaven forbid! He is keeping a sharp eye on the surroundings in the meantime, however, very casually.]

Oh? I'm not sure whether I should be relieved or disappointed.

I'm in the military.

[The surroundings are still pretty much harmless: nothing more exciting so far than falling coconuts. Even Ashley is starting to relax a bit.]

I don't know, what do you think of giant floating jellyfish?

Soldiers in space! That sounds like it would make a good shounen manga.

[From his voice, it's hard to tell if he's serious or mocking; in truth, it's probably both. The occasional falling coconut gets an unhurried look from Izaya, just in case the sound is caused by something else. When one hits particularly close, he wanders off to pick it up.

Giant floating jellyfish?] That depends on how venomous they are, I presume.

Enough that I wouldn't want to give one a handshake.

[Izaya chuckles at that, and throws his coconut into the air just a little before catching it again.]

I see! That does seem like a step up from little green men. Unless the stories about them experimenting on humans are true, I suppose...
