See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Disgustingly flattering. Yes, I quite like that ring.

It seems you like a number of disgusting things, don't you miss?
[ Removing the right lung from its cavity, he's decided to hold it up to the light for better inspection. It's blackened, visible cancerous tissue along its superior lobe. ]
What do you think you might pursue while off-duty?

At his question, Grell shrugs. She had no real plans, in truth.]
Anything I wish, of course. [She eyes him carefully, wondering what could be turning those jagged gears.] I certainly hope you're not looking for associates.

Aaaaaah, no. No. I work alone, my dear. If you want a job done right, as they say.

[ He purrs with amusement, back to turning that lung over in his hands, decidedly removing some of the cancerous tissue to keep as a sample. ]
Mm, but I was expecting you to fall back on old habits, in truth. It would be a perfect opportunity to do so don't you think?

With her current crew, it wouldn't be difficult to get any parts needed (if Conchita didn't eat them first), but Grell knows what they would be used for in the end, and manipulating death like that...
Perhaps she could turn a blind eye, so long as they aren't used against her.
It's definitely something to ponder over.
Grell shrugs during her short silence, picking up a jar full of eyes.]
There isn't much motivation, to be honest.

[ The silence was a good sign, really. It wasn't as though he trusted assistance much, but obliterating obstacles was always a good thing. Besides, it might be fun, twisting this reaper 'round. ]

Just sloppy.

[ He'll set aside his scalpel and samples for now, leaning over his cadaver, fingers curling over the edges of the table with a faint clacking of his nails. ]
Thouuuugh-- to find a muse, one must be willing to look for one.
[ Undertaker tilts his head off to the side, allowing his bangs to fall away from one of those supernaturally green eyes - though scarred through and nearly devoid of sight, still vibrant as ever. ]
Or have you allowed them to blind you, dear Grell?

[ He'll look down to the opened corpse, overseeing it whilst standing at its head. With an eerily softened smile, he delicately cradles its cheeks. ]
I once followed Death blindly, too, believing its power was absolute... Nnneeeever would I have imagined then that it could be surpassed! Wretched humans evolving from dull statistics, into something more.

I wasn't speaking entirely on the physical sense. [Grell leans against the slab that holds the corpse, watching him as he speaks.]
The evolution of DEATH. To think that humans had a helping hand. [It's an interesting area, surely. This also gives her an idea of his timeline. As for following the regulations and rules without much backtalk, with the discovery of the Bizzarre Dolls, she wonders the purpose of it all, besides keeping balance of souls, demons, and humans.]
And what was your inspiration? Curiosity? Or have you seen something perhaps you shouldn't have?
