Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Guess who went from standing right next to her to standing down the street and yelling at her in .1 seconds flat]

What the hell, Ahoko?!

You weren't paying attention!

[ Waves the hairclips at him, super threateningly, but since she hasn't bought them (yet) she doesn't march over to scold him properly. ]

[carptricks]

You're buying fish-shaped hair clips, of course I'm not paying attention!

[And he's staying as faaaar away from her as he can get]

[sapphireseas]

[ Oooh, this is a conundrum. If she looks away so that can buy the clips, he might run off . . . but giving up on the clips would mean that he wins. (And they really are pretty!)

Aoko huffs. ]

You weren't paying attention before I found these, either! [ Turns her back on him, nose in the air. ] I'm going to buy them.

[carptricks]

[Urk. Not as planned (or wanted)]

Just don't wear 'em around me, and you can do whatever you want with them.

[sapphireseas]

[ Ignores him for a moment so that she can haggle with the merchant! It's still a little weird, but she's come to find that it's a useful and necessary skill.

A few minutes later, she turns back around with a bright, beaming smile, hairclips wrapped and safely tucked away in her purse. ]

Maybe Kaito should let me help him get over that silly fear instead of running away all the time~.

[carptricks]

[. . . he takes a wary step back :|;;]

Maybe next time you ask me to go shopping with you, I'll say no thanks.

[sapphireseas]

Maybe next time you can sit on the ship, bored and alone.

[ Honestly, he's so childish. ]

Where do you want to go next?

[carptricks]

[Ugh. Ships. The less time he spent on them, the better]

Before I answer, you're not gonna try to startle me with those hair clips again, are you?

[sapphireseas]

They're in my purse, stupid. What do you think?

[carptricks]

[Gives her a dubious look. . . and then shrugs]

Let's go check out the beach.

[sapphireseas]

[ She returns the dubious look with a flat one, only to perk up a moment later. ]

Alright! Let's go. ♥

[ You'd think that spending so much time in this strange other world would take some of the magic out of the visiting the seaside. NOT FOR THIS GIRL. ]

[carptricks]

[The sea had never been one of his favorite places (too many fishy things lurking in the depths of the water), but he could enjoy time spent at the beach]

Geez, with how much time we spend on a ship a day, you think you'd be tired of the ocean by now.

[sapphireseas]

How could I be?

[ There's a skip in her step as they walk, ducking and weaving through the crowds. ]

It's so gorgeous, and every beach is different! There's always something new to find.

[carptricks]

[His mouth twitches in amusement]

Well, if you're excited about it, then I guess I could make the most out of the trip, too.

[sapphireseas]

You'd better!

[ There's no real force behind the words, only that same budding excitement. ]

I overheard one of the locals talking about treasure hidden in a mysterious, haunted cave! We could check it out.

[ She's not particularly fond of mysterious, haunted anything's, but the idea of treasure—and a possible ticket home—incites her interest. ]

[carptricks]

Haunted?

[Raises an eyebrow]

You remember what happened last time we checked out a haunted place, right?
