See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
Tulio || The Road to El Dorado
Tulio doesn't voice the thought aloud. He knows better. Oohh, yes, he knows better. So instead he just lays flat on his back on the dingy little raft that is all that is left of his and Miguel's dingy little boat. He slowly waves a makeshift flag (they didn't have enough for a sail), and sobs to himself quietly about the boat now at the bottom of the sea.
The boat that, just recently, had been filled to the brim with gold.
"So... so much gold..."
no subject
"It could be a whole lot worse."

But he was cut off abruptly as a large shadow appeared in the water, swimming under their raft and out the other side, its huge fin breaking the water to signal its intent as it began to circle them.
Tulio clambered up to his feet, his face a picture of despair. "If you say it, it always gets worse."

Yuri did this arte so much, it practically ingrained itself into the team. Estelle reared back and SWUNG, cutting a sphere of blue energy through the water. "AZURE EDGE!"
no subject
"Are you trying to kill us?" He shouted, his voice just a little too high pitched.

heyyyyy miguel and tulio heyyy
See, he doesn't exactly have a problem with the rough and tumble setting, because no one has his wanted poster, but the crown would have paid for a nice governor's mansion while he watched everyone else squabble around on ships as he waited out his kidnapping term. He hears the word 'gold' from the gentleman who seems oddly familiar and pauses despite himself.
"I know how you feel, brother! One day you're swimming with potential riches, the next you're stranded on a kidnapping landmass without the dignity of keeping it."
oh mr. rider, oh
Miguel, in direct contrast to Tulio's sobbing, has been out and about the town, just now returning to their sad little scrap of wood and cloth- well, flag- with a bounce and swagger in his step. All this cheer being directly related to the newest scrap of parchment he has clasped in his right hand.
Not, it should be noted, any of the supplies he may have actually been requested to bring back to the sobbing mess of his partner.
"A bit of a set back, but I've found an answer to all our troubles."

"Gollld?!" A pirates kind of treasure. "Where?! Where?!"
no subject
Deep, deep down.
Then he sobbed.

Do you have any idea... how much gold... I could have been a King!

Really, Ashura thinks it charming--riches, those are a simple wish, and almost sort of quaint to hir. Then again, Ashura has always had riches, so perhaps it's natural that hir ambitions lie elsewhere.

He gave another sob.
no subject
"Will you give your dream up so easily, then?"
no subject
"Well. On the bright side, Tulio. At this point it really can't get much-"
no subject
But it was too late. With a sudden WOOOSH! the heavens opened, drenching them both.
"How do you always do that??"
no subject
The raised finger and puffed out chest about to accompany the joking claim of godhood- their noted former profession- is cut short as very angry Tulio and his now all too drenched golden hair actually click into place. The puff goes out of him, leaving Miguel hunched over his wood-stealing project.
"Nothing. Truly, Tulio, on my honor I wasn't about to say a single other word."
no subject
"Really. Really." But it's useless to argue, at this point, the damage has been done and whatever mystical karma that Miguel had a knack of hitting had come to pass.
He lowered his head into his hands.
"Please tell me you at least managed to save the supplies, this time."
The fact that he could say 'this time' made him want to sob.
no subject
"On the bright side, I saved the ancient talisman destined to bring us fortune and prosperity?"
Or so had said the gypsy woman that had sold it to him. While laughing. While Tulio was away getting their former ship equipped, now that he thought of it.
no subject
And then he launched himself straight at his 'well-meaning' partner.
"Fortune and prosperity?? Give it to me! I'll send it right down to the bottom of the ocean with the rest of our fortune and prosperity!"
no subject
As if yelling the mans name would be enough in the way of explanation, Miguel tripped over his own feet trying to back away from the man rather than offer further clarification at the moment. The fact that both hands went up to grasp a new necklace around his neck probably didn't help with the whole 'keeping Tulio from discovering the item' plan.
"It's all we have left!"
no subject
[SAW THE WHOLE THING.]
You know, maybe next time don't steer your ship into the only rock formation in the entire ocean.
[Grumps a bit, because he'd totally been trying to catch up with said ship so he could hitch a ride, BUT NOW...]
