Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Interesting. So even pirates that mock the lack of guts in others don't have any of their own.

Never said I wasn't a pirate, for pirate I be.

Only it were you that failed to specify that pirate and man of the sea were two different things.

And you think piracy is doomed with you as a pirate?

[Snorts, and reaches for the jitte on his back. It's a reflex, really. Also, he's done enough dealing with pirates in the last thirty-something hours to make him paranoid. Granted, he was already on the paranoid side so there is that.] Talk about bearing conviction behind your flag.

[It's a taunt, not that Barbossa would get it. But something that the "greatest pirate ever" once said on his execution stand.]

[No, he doesn't get it, and he doesn't really care, if they're being honest. He has no desire to mince words with someone he's never seen before, nor obviously has anything to offer.]

Wouldn't recommend that, mate. [It's said in reference to the other reaching for he jitte.]

I'm a fine pirate. And a finer swordsman. And I fear an unexpected death this early on will cast a few shadows on setting sail, aye?

[justicereigns]

[Narrows his eyes.] How fortunate then that my weapon is meant to deal with swordsman, and unfortunately for you, my job is to arrest pirates.

[Oh yeah. This will go well. It's not like he hasn't already been trounced by 4 major pirates over his caliber already in the last "day" and with the wounds to prove it. You know, because being cut up by wires and having your heart removed still beating and all that does wonders for one's health.]

[Precious. Absolutely precious. Which is why he starts to laugh. How wonderfully fortunate, because, really, what better way to establish one's reputation. Especially in a place where so few have heard of him before.]

Is that so. Well, then, mate, I'm afraid you'll have a hard time putting iron on this pirate. [And so casually, really, does his hand drop to the hilt of his sword.] No one's done it yet, and I expect you're no different.

[Okay. Jitte out of loop now. To be honest, a stiff wind could probably still blow him over at this point, but never let it be said that Smoker isn't incredibly foolhardy.]

You've never run into me before. And I never let anyone escape.
