Test Drive for September 2013 Apps

Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[And she's off!]

Hahahaha Okay! [and he's off too! Gathering all sorts of barrels and rope]

I'm beating you Pinnnk! Haha better hurry!

Pinkie: DO A BARREL ROLL!

[Grabs some rope from who knows where, makes a lasso and tosses it, getting it around a barrel easily! Ah, all those times of playing with Applejack sure paid off!

She tugs along the barrel while galloping at top speed with her wagon before suddenly she stops at the edge of a dock. Of course the barrel rolls into her and the wagon, knocking everything and herself into the air! The barrel lands in the water, the open side up, and all her stuff falls neatly inside. Pinkie included.]

I WIN!

[allendsmeat]

UWAAAAH! THAT'S AMAZING! SO COOL! HEY DO IT FOR ME! DO IT FOR ME!

Okay! First you have to run really fast!

[allendsmeat]

OKAY! [and he darts inland as fast as he can]

Now lasso the barrel!

[allendsmeat]

[still running! Running! Into the forest! This is going to be pretty cool!]

[Takes in a deeeeeeep breath, and...]

DID YOU LASSO THE BARREL?!

[allendsmeat]

Ehhh? [screeches to a stop. He didn't know he was supposed to do that! But! He ties his wrist around his upper arm and wooshes it over his head]

GUM GUM NO--~

[and it whips out! Lassoing the barrel!]

LASSOOO!

[Maybe he didn't hear her...

At seeing such a feat, Pinkie's jaw drops. Not even she can do that!]

....whoooooaaa...HOW COOL!!

Now run towards the docks! RUN, LUFFY! C'MON!!

[allendsmeat]

Yoooosh! [Teaaring toward the docks as fast as he could, the wind blowing in his hair. This is so cool.

So cool!

SO COOL!]

[Pinkie watches carefully for just the right moment. When Luffy gets close enough to the dock edge...he's almost there...

He's pretty fast, so it doesn't take long for her to yell:]

STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!

[allendsmeat]

[he STOOOOOOPS sandals skidding across the boards and the barrel rattling after him]

[Okay! So if Pinkie is right, the barrel will knock into him and send them both flying into the water. The real trick is to land in the barrel! He should probably make it.

Pinkie's just watching, rubbing her hooves together in glee. This is SO gonna work!]

[allendsmeat]

[It totally works! Of course it does! The fact that he's upside down is just a detail!]

WAHOOO! THAT WAS SO COOL! his feet flail in glee] Ooh a pickle. [munching sounds.

After a moment he straightens himself out and works on untying himself from himself]

That was so cool! You should teach the others that! They'll love it!

GREAT JOB! [Claps her hooves.] We gotta work on the landing, though!

Do you think so? It's all about timing, so it can be pretty hard to do!

[allendsmeat]

Yeah but they're pretty good! [First he takes out a rope, tying their two barrels together so they won't float away, and gets out a bit of wood for paddling with]

Let's go, Pinkie!

[elementofcupcakes]

Aye, aye, captain! [SALUTES!

...she has no oar. So she starts blowing the air behind her, to move her forward.]

[allendsmeat]

haha if you do it that way you're going to get really tired really quickly! [so he breaks his oar in half and hands her a piece] Here!

Oh, thanks Luffy! [She takes it and starts paddling.] Hey, this is muuuuuuuch better!

[allendsmeat]

Yeah! [he paddles a bit until he manages to find a current that will pull them away from shore and puts the paddle down for a bit, leaning his chin on the barrel rim and enjoying the sight of the wide sea and the cloudless blue horizon. It's big and kinda lonely sometimes but beautiful]

It can even be nice in a barrel, na...

[Pinkie just copies him, because she's never been out on the sea before. A lake, sure, but no big, wide ocean! She watches as the shore gets further away, kind of intrigued by it all.]

I've been in a lot of barrels before, but not on the ocean! It's pretty neat so far! [She looks over to him, her pet baby alligator sticking out from her hair.] How long do you think it'll take to find another island?

Who knows. Maybe days. Hopefully we'll find a bigger ship before then. If not we're going to be in trouble! haha
