Test Drive for September 2013 Apps

Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Gonzo eyed one of the ship's cannons speculatively, looked towards the closest shore as if measuring the distance, and then nodded.

"Yep, this'll do. Hey guys! Could someone help me fire myself out of this cannon?"

"Gun."

Edward makes the correct even before he thinks about the situation. By now, the strange blue... thing... has just been accepted. Part of the oddity of the entire situation. Of course, this latest bit of insanity is... something else. But. Well.

"On land, they're cannons. Once on a ship, they're guns."

Gonzo's eyelids rose. "Huh. Learn something new everyday. Alright, could you fire me out of the gun, uh, sir?"

"You'll forgive me if I say that sounds like a very bad idea, I hope."

After all, he can foresee only one outcome: blood and blue everywhere, likely ruining the gun and taking him down a crew member.

"Yeah, everybody says that. It's alright, I'm a professional."

Which implies that he's done this before.

...Weirder things have happened, Edward has to admit. He was, after all, kidnapped to this world. However, he still has an answer for it.

"How would you return to the boat?"

Gonzo's mouth opened, then closed. Opened, then closed agian, this time with a puzzled expression. "Lemme come up with an answer and get back to you on that."

He walks off, muttering things about giant rubber bands and hypnotizing sea otters.

Edward chuckled faintly, shaking his head. "Let me know when you do. Then, we'll discuss it again."

[allendsmeat]

"Yosh! Okay!" He has absolutely no problem with this! It'll be really cool. "I forgot how to set it up though." It involves a match and a cord and black powder, but Usopp usually takes care of that. Maybe if he just dumps a lot of black powder in there it'll be fine.

"Great work! Lemme just climb in here." Gonzo slipped down into the muzzle.

"Now let's light this baby!"

[allendsmeat]

"OKAY! LET'S GO!" And he strikes a match! snap "Haha Oops!" Strike! snap "Oops!" Strike! snap "Oops!"

Strike! "Hey I got it! Look look! AHH Don't burn my fingers you stupid match!" Shakes his hand and blows on them. Hang tight, blue guy. This might take a while.

Ashley rolled her eyes.

"How about not? We're not exactly running a circus here."

Gonzo shrugged. "Well, maybe we should be."

"Just don't touch the guns, all right? We can't waste powder on stupid stunts."

Ash spoke straight and to the point, as always, though perhaps a bit more snappish than usual- being trapped in another world hadn't done wonders for her mood. It was nothing personal.

"Oh come on!" Gonzo said, pleading "Hear me out! You can be the ringmaster! And it'll mean we don't have to be actual pirates to earn money."

Her expression softened a bit. "Don't worry about that. If I have any say in it-" and she does intend to speak to the captain- "we can do this without robbing people."
