See you during the application round!

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Though, that wasn't to say it was what he wanted to accomplish. The street 'burst' from the raw strength in Ace's leg and sent up a sheet of rock. He lifted it over his head with ease, preparing to throw it right at Korra.]
But, I'm not a firebender. I am fire!
[And then, of course, he threw it.]
no subject
Are you a spirit, then?
[Some of them could be pretty... odd, from what she'd been told. There wasn't any time to think about it, though. Korra rooted her feet, bending her knees as if she were sitting on a horse as the slab of the street came her way. She threw both of her fists out, splitting the earth clean in two and letting it fall to the ground and crumble.
No firebender could do that. And last time she checked, spirits weren't earthbenders. She was the Avatar, so...
What was this guy's deal?]
no subject
But, that's weird. I thought you'd recognize me if you were a great fighter, but I must be really off the beaten path!
[Ace walked towards Korra, realizing that at some point, Swab had simply run away. That was the problem with having fun--sometimes important things slipped out of your hands.]
Now... [His right arm became engulfed in full flames once more and Ace regarded Korra with a much tighter grin.]
Are you holdin' back because we're in town?
no subject
Well, I did get arrested for this sorta thing before...
[Not wasting any more time, Korra shifted her stance to be low and sturdy once more, bracing herself to the ground as she struck down with her heel. A shockwave carried through the cobblestones, rippling the street like water and travelling fast toward the place where Ace stood.
All the while, she was keeping an eye out for some source of water. Maybe that would be his weak point.]
no subject
[At that, Ace craned his neck and watched as Korra uplifted a great number of rocks beneath the ground in that shockwave, though he did nothing to avoid it. He kept himself fairly still right before it all tore right through him, ripping his body to pieces.
Though, his feet began to manifest once more, flames licking the ground and rising up to reform his body, bit by bit. Ace eventually stood straight up once again, his skin still tinted orange from the depth of the flames within him.]
Jeez, I didn't expect that big a result. You weren't strikin' that hard.
no subject
[Korra found herself frozen for a moment as Ace's body vanished in flames and re-materialized. Was it a trick? Had she just missed something?]
How'd you do that! [It was more of a demand than a question.]
no subject
[Ace rubbed the back of his head with an open hand, the flames from all around him slowly crawling back towards them as if magnetically pulled, until they all faded inside of his body.
He grinned, always enjoying a moment where he could look cool--]
Though, you're doin' some pretty cool stuff, yourself. I'm guessin' whatever bendin' is--you can do it to more than fire, right?
no subject
This guy, though... He claimed that he was fire. Her chi didn't react to him, though. It wasn't like she could bend the guy!]
So you ate some fruit... And now you're made of fire?
[She forced cynicism into her voice, amazed as she was at the power that obviously wasn't just talk. Water... She needed water!]
no subject
What're the other ones, then? Ice and light?
[He took his steps, the heated glow slowly vanishing from him, leaving a few idle wisps of smoke trailing off of his hands and legs. Korra looked confident on her own, but Ace had been more interested in actions than words, of which she could provide quite a bit of the prior.]
Just the same, I dunno what kind Avatar you are, but if we're talkin' titles--the name's Fire Fist Ace.

Water and Air.
[Though with little to no water in sight and her iffy airbending skills, Korra wasn't counting on either in this. It wasn't even much of a fight at this point, was it? More like a sparring match.]
Avatar Korra. So are you from around here, Ace? You seem pretty pirate-ish to me.
[She was curious about what kind of place this was.]
no subject
[Casually said, Ace still smiled none the less. It didn't seem like a big deal that he died--since he was happy with what he did when he happened to be alive.]
Though, if you can use water and air as a weapon, that's gotta be useful. I used to have a friend who used Fishman Karate--he could fight usin' water strong enough to punch holes in steel blocks.
If you could use that kinda style, I might be in some trouble.
no subject
[That had been Korra's guess from the start. But it wouldn't do her any good if she couldn't get her hands on any water.]
no subject
Wouldn't want it to be an unfair fight.
(OOC: also, o3o hoping you app...)
no subject
I think I'll stick it out here. Don't want to take an unfair advantage.
[It was less that and more that she wanted to win fair and square. No question as to who had come out on top.
Besides, he could just be messing with her.]
(Most likely not this cycle, but I'm seriously considering it for the future! Her current game is closing in a few months, so I'll probably bring her here afterward.)
no subject
I dunno about that. You might need it, Miss Avatar.
(OOC: I will patiently wait! This is dynamite CR DB)
no subject
What the-
[This was when she knew to back off. Punching a clumsy blast of air at the street, Korra shot into the air and landed on a shop's roof. Could he make it up here?]
no subject
Smart move!
[Ace could have jumped that far with ease, but it was always best to gauge someone, he thought. He placed one hand on his hip, his left hand still aflame. Korra demonstrated a little less control over that air than she did the Earth and Fire, which he found curious.]
Want to keep going?
no subject
Well, that other guy's probably long gone by now...
[She avoided answering his question.]
What's your beef with him anyway? Really?
[Or did you just feel like knocking him around a little?]
no subject
[Ace never truly seemed bothered by what had happened, especially given that it didn't matter. He was perfectly fine, after all--showing that there hadn't been anything big enough to really concern him. Though, it was the principle of the matter. He couldn't just let a guy get away with--]
When I tried to recruit him, he decided to cut my throat instead.
[So, he flew off the handle a little. The thoughtful look he gave Korra showed that it was, in fact, a spur of the moment gesture on his part.]
no subject
[Okay, so maybe she had this guy pegged wrong. But still! It had looked like he was attacking the other guy! How was she supposed to know?
Korra jumped down from the building, landing on an uneven cushion of air and testing her luck. She folded her arms, still watching Ace.]
You're looking for a crew then?
no subject
[With Ace or Korra, Swab likely thought. The guy was definitely long gone and Ace's own anger had evaporated fairly easily. Ace diminished his flames, reaching up to touch his chin in thought.]
It's natural to want a crew when you're a pirate, right? I've been wantin' to go look for that rumored jewel, actually.
What about you, though? Wanna join my crew, Miss Avatar?
no subject
[Korra folded her arms, eyeing Ace with a smirk. It was true that she didn't have a crew of her own, but she also wasn't so hot at following directions. If you're a team, you're a team, and everyone makes decisions. But one guy? Sorry, captain in charge? She wasn't so sure.]
And I don't like being ordered around.
no subject
[Ace couldn't say much for getting along with people, but he did think it was weird that Korra thought to even mention it. He suddenly squatted down close to the ground, showing that he was taking a little bit of a lazier approach to the conversation. He still smiled with ease, though--showing just how easily his mood could flip.]
Well, I'm not really one for givin' many orders unless they're worthwhile ones.
Though, I should ask formally! Do you wanna go wild on the sea with me?
no subject
[Korra smirked. This could be... interesting. She would just tell herself that it was like home, with Team Avatar. Just... on the ocean. And probably doing illegal things.
But if this was the way to get home, she wasn't going to argue.]
I would be happy to! [She bows, that same grin still across her face.]
First... I gotta sleep, though. I'm pooped. [Cue a yawn.]
no subject
[Ace stood up quickly, though in the next instant, his shoulders hung and his arms dangled limp at his sides, much like a rag doll's. He didn't seem to have a desire to speak any further.
Standing straight up, Ace was suddenly asleep, snoring loudly right in the street.]
