Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Thatch isn't sure whether to be charmed or not by the admission. Or even believe it. He couldn't decide yet if this man was throwing him off the scent, completely honest, or a mixture of both while trying to be smooth as hot butter on a slide.

In either case, the fact that he clearly wasn't from Thatch's world, nor perhaps familiar with pirates in general, saved him from being gut punched for the insult]

I've got a Captain, matey. The greatest man in the world, in fact. So you'll have to find another parrot.

[he moves away from the guy and puts his hands in his pockets, moving to inspect the ship]

Where did you get this tub anyway? Know how to sail it?

[It wouldn't be the first time the Duke has been punched in the gut, though it also doesn't occur to him that he could have been. Hair metal culture doesn't quite mesh with pirate culture.

Duke shrugs dismissively.]

Can't be that hard! What do you need to sail? A crew! What's a crew? A bunch of people! What do people need? Organization! Who's better at organizing people than me?

Nobody. [He swipes his arms outward at the word, then rubs his chin. There's no mistaking the gleam in his eye. Hobnobbing with the best is at least a step gaining back at least a bit of his old power.]

I'm more curious about the captain you mentioned. Who is this majestic cat?

What you need is a crew, supplies, equipment, knowing how to read sea and sails and knowing where you're going is a start.

[this guy will either succeed beyond anyone's wildest imagination or go out in a blaze of glory. Thatch hoped he was there to witness either one.]

Whitebeard is the strongest man alive in my world. The other contenders can only hope to match him in strength. He's the strongest, wisest and kindest person I've ever met and I'll sail under his flag until the day I die.
